Veronica Mars Canceled…or an FBI Agent

March 16, 2007 by

Veronica Mars Canceled…or an FBI AgentWhat? Huh? Ok, so I just woke up so I’m a little out of it and my eyes may not be working properly but there seems to have been some possible developments on the Veronica Mars cancelation front since I went to bed 5 hours ago.

Just checked out the latest from Kristin Veitch. Seems that the cancelation rumors may not be completely accurate. Show creator Rob Thomas says that is the show were canceled, he doesn’t know anything about it. And get this, there are now new rumors to add to the mix, including one that has the show reinventing itself and pushing years into the future and featuring Veronica as an FBI agent.

Here’s an excerpt from Kristin’s post:

And according to CW insiders, the CW has not officially canceled Veronica Mars. However, here’s the catch: They are currently considering a different format for the fourth season. From what I hear, that format would leap four years into the future and focus on Veronica Mars as an FBI agent. Aside from returning star Kristen Bell (duh), the rest of the cast is yet to be determined, but it isn’t likely that many of her current co-stars would be on board.

So bottom line: Veronica Mars could be: 1) spinning off into a new format, 2) returning in her college years or 3) getting canceled. (Read the rest here)

I’ll be sure to keep up on all the rumors and let you know if I hear anything new.

Moving the show 4 years into the future sounds pretty good to me. That would be interesting. The only bad thing about that aspect is “the rest of the cast is yet to be determined, but it isn’t likely that many of her current co-stars would be on board.” I would SO miss many of them.

I’m a big VM fan. This rumor has not made my day. Choice 3 is not a viable option for the best show on television. It’s time to circle the wagons in support of this quality show.

This is so not dawesome. At least I saw this post before I saw the one stating VM had been cancelled. Although I’m not entirely sure how Rob and the gang could reformat the show in such a huge way, I would definetly be on board. Television is much better with this show then without it.

I think we have officially moved into WTF territory. I’m definitely not on board with the show being cancelled but moving 4 years in the future? That seems ridiculous to me.

I have faith that Rob Thomas would do a good job moving it forward without the weird transition.

I for one wonder what the hell is CW thinking? This is by far the best show on the CW and maybe even on TV. This show must be very expensive to make for CW to give it so many chances yet not have the ratings materialize. Same thing happened with Arrested Development. All I can say is go to eonline and post a comment in the VM watch with Kristin section we need to show our support for this awesome show.

Veronica could be peddling drigs and I’d still watch as long as it is on the air.

I beg your pardon?! FBI could be good, I guess… just as long as Logan and Keith and Mac and Wallace are there.

    CW, don’t fail us now!

I’ve been loaning my friends the first season and they love the show now! I also lent them Everwood but I guess it’s too late.
