SCANDAL: Corruption in TV Voting

This just in…corruption and fraud have taken a seemingly harmless TV internet game and turned it into something ugly, just ugly (and there’s not even a Betty Suarez involved in this one).
In the spirit of March Madness, the Chicago Tribune’s RedEye had a bracket of it’s own to name the best character on TV today. In the final four we had strong contenders: Jack Donaghy (30 Rock) vs. Ari Gold(Entourage) and Dr. Gregory House (House) vs. Dwight Schrute (The Office). Things turned viscious when fans of House started campaigning hard for the Doc to win. Not to be outdone, Office fans started their petition for Dwight, going so far to get Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly) and Angela Kinsey (Angela Martin) involved and asking for votes for their co-star through their MySpace pages.
Well it’s all fun and games until someone rigs a web browser – and that’s just what happened. Someone in one of the camps (and I personally don’t know which one) rigged a browser to vote hundreds of times a minute for their “candidate”. The cheating got so bad that all votes for House and Schrute have been thrown out and NEW voting will take place TODAY only with the deadline of 1pm CST. I live in Chicago and saw the “rigged” vote this morning in the RedEye. I must say that I am not surprised as Chicago has a long history of ballot stuffing. 🙂 I didn’t realize that Jenna and Angela were involved.

You didn’t mention this but the Starbuck vs. Homer Simpson one was crazy too. During the last hour or two Starbuck was up thousands and then all of a sudden Homer was getting like 100+ votes every time you clicked refresh! It was nuts. But they’re doing that one over too.
Dwight is losing so go vote for Dwight!!!!
