Entourage Recap and Quotes

Title: “Dog Day Afternoon″
Original Airdate: April 15, 2007

Eh, for the second episode of the season, I had hoped for a little more from Entourage tonight.  Not much really happened. As always there was some good Ari/Lloyd interaction but not enough to make up for the other lackluster storylines.

Eric, Sloane, Vince and a girl to be named later are planning on going to Napa for the weekend.  Sloane would prefer a little one on one time with her boyfriend, but Eric doesn’t think Vince will be too happy about being left behind.  E tells Vince that Sloane wouldn’t be comfortable with Vince just bringing some random girl that they don’t know for a weekend away.  While Eric tells Sloane they are in the clear for a weekend alone, Vince finds a girl (Lindsay) and to make Sloane feel more comfortable, he thinks they should all go out to dinner to get to know each other.  Vince tells Eric that if Sloane doesn’t like this girl for any reason then he will stay home.  Eric and Sloane decide that no matter what they are going to hate this girl. But no one really counted on Sloane and Lindsay hitting it off.  Vince brings up Napa and all four decide that it will be a great time.  On their way out of the restaurant Lindsay says that she’s glad she’s passed Sloane’s test, and mentions that Vince told her that Sloane is picky about travel companions. Eric is pissed that Vince mentioned this to Lindsay, but not nearly as pissed as Sloane is at Eric for making her the scapegoat.  In the end Vince decides not to go, but opts to go on a littl vacay with Drama and Turtle instead.  As they kick it on a private jet on the way to Cabo, Eric and Sloane begin their seven hour drive to Napa. If only Sloane were speaking to Eric.
Ari is on a mission to land Jay, a big wig TV writer to just fired his representation.  Knowing he can’t pull this one off on his own, he calls in the big guns…Lloyd.

Ari: Jay fired his agent yesterday and we have to nail this guy.
Lloyd: So why am I going?
Ari: Because he’s a queen, just like you.  He’s never had a straight agent.  And if I’m going to be his first I’m going to have to show that I’m a friend to the gay man.
Lloyd: But you’re not a friend to the gay man, Ari.
Ari: Lloyd, this is the big one.  So just grab your best dress and know that today your love of cock is a huge asset to this company.

At lunch Lloyd is uncomfortable with Jay’s attention but deals because he knows it’s important to Ari.  Jay later calls and tells Ari that he’s going to sign with him.  Jay insists that Lloyd bring him over the papers tonight around 9ish.  Clearly not ok with the situation, once again Lloyd goes along with the plan out of loyalty to Ari. Later that night on his way home from dinner with Mrs. Ari, Ari is hit with all kinds of guilt and heads out to find Lloyd.  At the club Jay is busy boozing Lloyd up and is about to leave with him when Ari arrives. Ari lets Jay know that he’ll do a lot of things to make a client happy but he can’t let Lloyd leave with Jay.  Jay threatens to drop Ari as his agent but Ari seems ok with it.

Jay: …if he doesn’t come home with me these papers aren’t getting signed.
Ari: You know what?  That’s actually fine with me.  We may be whores at my agency, but we ain’t pimps.
Lloyd: Ari Gold, you’re my hero.

And what are Drama and Turtle doing during all of this?  Well they went to a dog park to pick up some bitches (ha). The guys met two girls who also had a Rotweiller.  The four some headed back to Case de Entourage and were getting it on when Arnold attacked the the girls’ Rot.  The boys waited it out in the vet clinic in the hopes of getting some.  Just when Drama and Turtle thought their night involved a ‘happy ending’ Turtle and his lady got into a screaming match about Arnold’s behavior – something Turtle just couldn’t handle.

Overall, a pretty blah ep.  If you’re not going to give me the straight up comedy, then at least let’s talk about Vince’s career or something. This is Entourage…a look into the life of Hollywood’s IT boy.  Here’s to hoping Vince and the boys have some more fun in La La land next week.
