And so, after all that, it turns out that Audrey has gone crazy, and the only words she knows how to say are “Jack, please help me – please don’t let them do this to me.” Ouch. That’s gotta hurt Jack, knowing that you just gave up insanely secretive, world-war-causing info for a former lover that you didn’t actually spend that much time with, and who has now lost her mind. Great. And you also would have killed yourself for her too, if crafty Doyle hadn’t found your secret location and interrupted your exchange with his gunfire. Fantastic. But you know what the hardest part of this is? This plot development wasn’t even the worst thing that happened tonight.

No, in my mind, the worst thing that happened was the horribly unjust firing of my man Bill Buchanon. I just can not believe that this all went down as quickly as it did – but hey, this is 24, and many things happen WAY quicker than they would in real life, so we’ll just put that issue aside for now. But anyway, Bill suddenly had to be fired because weasel Chad Lowe, in order to save himself from a death penalty, brought out information that showed how Buchanon had Fayed in custody 2 years ago and then let him go. Of course, the fact that they had zero charges against Fayed, and therefore, no legal reason to hold him means nothing – all that matters, apparently, in the minds of the prosecutors and the media, is that Bill had Fayed and then let him go.

So now all the attacks of the day are going to get blamed on Bill. Yeah. That makes a whole lot of sense. Grrrr. I reeeeeally really hope that this isn’t the end for my man Bill, because seriously, what a horrible ending for such a noble character. Bill has been an amazingly awesome CTU Director and all around good guy for the past 3 years. Nadia definitely put it best when she said to him, “You’re the most ethical, dedicated person I know – why is this happening?!?!” Seriously, girlfriend, seriously. And then when Bill responded by saying, “What you said means a lot” just before he was escorted out of CTU by armed guards! Ack! My heart just broke for Bill, who had to get fired by his wife no less! Poooor Bill! He had better get justice soon…

Speaking of Nadia, by the way, what do you all think of Bill naming her as the new head of CTU? This is a woman, after all, who was just tortured several hours ago because of unjust suspicions that she was a traitor. She was also recently backed against a wall and kissed by annoying Milo, in front of everyone. I’m not sure which ordeal was worse. But regardless, she is now in charge, and it so far it seems like she’s doing a pretty good job – or as well as she can, considering her orders. Not doing so well, though, is Chloe and Morris, who suddenly had a really nasty spat tonight, and now Morris wants to be transferred away from Chloe for good. Ouch again. I’m not really sure how I feel about this… Both of these two have become kind of annoying lately, but at the same time, I care about them both and want them to be happy….

Someone, however, that I do NOT want to be happy is Demon Daniels. I can’t believe that his way of seducing his pretty young blond secretary was to say, “The acting President’s a dirty old man.” ICK!!! Ick Ick Ick!!! Man, I really hope this guy doesn’t last too much longer in the Oval Office, because I’m sorry, he is MUCH worse than Logan. At least Logan was a multi-layered character that you actually had some sympathy for. Demon Daniels is just a one-note ICK!!

And speaking of Logan… bring back Logan! And Martha! And Agent Pierce! Sigh… I miss Season 5 of this show.

Once again, you nailed it, LaLa. After a great, cathartic episode two hours ago, the story and some of the characters are becoming almost unbearably annoying. Demon Daniels is certainly at the top of the list. But, and at this point, I know I’m sticking my neck out, there must be some reveal coming up that will help it all to make sense before we lose all interest. I’ll bet Crazy Audrey (filling the Crazy Martha role now that CM has no more relevance to the story) has some secret info on the evil Chinese captors that will save the day. And only Jack will be able to get it from her. Not through torture, of course. Save that for the One Note ICK.

Yeeaaahh…… hmmmm. Not good. The storylines have gotten just….bizarre. Karen firing Bill was completely unbelievable to me, just, not even a little. Pretty much everything that has gone down in the White House this season has been absurd. And while I’m not sure Audrey has gone crazy, probably just drugged and brainwashed, it’s a tired development. I did, however, laugh out loud at Chloe’s “how bout not arming nuclear bombs for terrorists? …sorry Morris I didn’t mean that…” Yes, you so did Chloe!! Come on Morris take it like a man, you did after all crumble like a house of cards…. well not quite… OK, so they were drilling his shoulder you’d think this computer ace Morris could have set up some kind of fake out.
Anyway, I say Amen to bringing back Logan and crazy Martha… or something…anything.
Oh yeah and Daniels and his secretary? Gross. The dirty old man line made me shudder. Uber Ick!!

    Another great recap, LaLa.

I was soooo pissed about Bill. A really big WTF there. I love Bill and to see him go…just sucks. I have faith that this isn’t it for Bill–he’ll be back. I liked seeing him get pissed at Karen. He did everything right and yet she still had to “fire” him. So stupid. And Morris. Dang. I really like Morris, too, so i wasn’t happy when he wanted a transfer. Sigh.

Yeah, i missed a little bit of the show b/c i was bent over throwing after watching the whole seduction scene between Demon Daniels and his secretary. Bllllleeeehhh. Just thinking about it makes me sick… =X
