24 Recap: Day 6, 2:00am – 3:00am

Title: “Day 6, 2:00am – 3:00am”
Original Airdate: 5/7/07
GMMR Recapper: LaLa

Um, what?? Soooo, China raided CTU and killed all those people just in order to kidnap Josh Bauer, aka Jack’s nephew/son, because Daddy Bauer wanted him back?! I mean, yes, obviously Daddy Bauer was demanding his grandson in exchange for cracking the Russian codes for the Chinese… but still, couldn’t they have waited until Josh went home the next morning?? And if that’s all they’re at CTU for, then why the heck did they execute the “Head of CTU”??? (i.e. Milo, who was trying to protect Nadia… well, at least the dude went out with a noble sacrifice…) But seriously, what purpose did that serve? Especially since they ended up using Nadia (once they discovered her real identity) to fool Doyle in the end. And oh yes: how the heck did Daddy Bauer get a hold of the CTU over-ride codes in the first place?!?!

So many questions and needless, nonsensical events in this episode… my head hurts. Speaking of, what is wrong with slutty Presidential aid Lisa? Did the girl take a stupid pill before she went back to her traitorous boyfriend’s apartment, or did she somehow forget that “going to take a shower” is NOT the ONLY reasonable excuse to go to the bathroom. How about: “I really need to go to the bathroom.” Not sexy, no, but perfectly valid. Or: “I feel ill – I think I ate something bad – I really need to go to the bathroom.”

Seriously, I can’t believe that a girl who has been so good at deceiving her boss/sometimes lover is suddenly unable to tell convincing lies (and in fact, Daniels correctly pointed this out). I know she’s upset about the situation and fears life imprisonment, but come on! And now, as a result, Tom Lennox and the surveillance crew have to listen to (and probably watch through the purse camera) Lisa having sex with her traitorous boyfriend. Ewwwwwwww!!!!! So, so needless…

Um, so what else happened in this episode? Well, Morris and Chloe are still broken up, and Chloe is still very upset about it. And the reason that Morris gave Chloe had something to do with her knowing that he was a coward because he armed the nukes for the terrorists, and because she’ll always know about said event, he can never be with her. Ummmm, dude, doesn’t that make you an even bigger coward if you broke up with your girlfriend because you can’t stand that she knows that you did something cowardly? Yeah… pretty nonsensical. Run, Chloe, run.

Finally, just as Audrey and her ungrateful father leave the CTU building and Jack’s life presumably forever, Mrs. Graham Bauer is there to quickly swoop in and offer Jack a pretty shoulder to cry on. “I want you to know, Jack, that no matter what happens, I’ll always be there for you,” she cooed. Damn, girl – I know you’re obsessed with him, but for pete’s sake, give the man a moment to grieve for his lost love! Then again, I guess this show has never been known for things happening in a realistic time frame…

I’ve only been watching recently. Is Josh Jack’s son or nephew?

He’s a nephew because Josh’s mother Marilyn was married to Jack’s brother, before he was killed by his own father. But Marilyn and Jack have a romantic past so there is speculation that Josh is Jack’s son.

Love your recap LaLa. I was screaming the same thing in my head “Just say you have to go to the bathroom! Everyone has to pee once in awhile.”

Love your recap LaLa. I was screaming the same thing in my head “Just say you have to go to the bathroom! Everyone has to pee once in awhile.” Along those same lines, in future 24 seasons, I sure would like to see Jack (and others) eat once in awhile. It sure would help with the realism.

Sorry, LaLa. Not good. Unnecessarily harsh. Daddy Bauer had no way of knowing that Josh was going to go home in the morning, and obviously Chang and Co. need to get out of the country right away with their stolen secrets. As for how he had the CTU override codes, Daddy Bauer’s group controlled the Presidency in Season Five (alas, poor Logan, we miss you), so having CTU’s codes is not too much of a stretch. You’re dead on about Lisa, though. That was dumb.

Love your recap, LaLa. I do agree w/ Jake though about understanding why the Chinese would break into CTU, etc. Also, i figured they executed the head of CTU (er…Milo in this case =/) either to gain some ground and show that they weren’t afraid of taking anyone else out if need be, or b/c the head of CTU may cause problems for them. In other words, in wasn’t too surprising for terrorists to execute someone. Plus, at that time when they executed Milo, they didn’t have many problems w/ Doyle, like later when they actually needed the head of CTU.

Speaking of Doyle, i am just loving him more and more. Seriously, he kicks so much ass (and is now worthy to work w/ Jack). I keep thinking, if Nadia had half a brain she would pick Doyle over Milo…oh, wait, Milo’s dead? Oh, then, boom, decision made =P Was that mean? Anyway, i feel bad that Milo’s dead. He was annoying but it’s always sad to lose one of our men =( Nice to see him go out heroically, though.

And Lisa? Um, yeah, i’m not even going to go over how much i feel for Tom.

Anyway, it was nice to see Jack kicking some ass (for a short amount of time) w/ Marilyn salivating behind him. Goodness, woman. Leave Jack the hell alone. And how random was it to see Daddy Bauer?! When they were kidnapping Josh i kept thinking, wait, is he going to help the Chinese w/ the Russian technology? Whaaa? B/c i didn’t even think twice about Daddy Bauer. I forgot about him.

Oh, and sorry for the huge comment. Just love my 24 =)

But they wanted him to look through her PDA, right? If she just went to pee, I don’t think he would have time to do so.

But yes, neither attacking CTU (he was going home in the morning) nor shooting the one in charge made much sense at all. Although a group such as that might not always act rational, and might just really want to shoot the one in charge.

Phew! Late to the party… Damn you life!! Interfering with my TV blogging…pshaw!! 😉 Loved the recap LaLa.

So the shizz is gonna hit the fan now. Bauer’s on the loose and he’s, once again, having a pretty rough day…so… yikes.
The Chinese attack on CTU??? …you may be going just a winch overboard there fellas. And just to have that chip fixed? Do they not have someone who knows about such things? I’m hoping more unfolds here cause that was way over the top.

Morris is getting more lame by the minute and Lisa? Yuk. Just… yuk.

I know all of you aren’t fans of Audrey, but I seriously hope Jack tells Daddy Heller to shove it where the sun don’t shine and takes Audrey away with him. Watching that scene again at the beginning of the show hurt my heart. Booooooo Heller!!

Last call for President Logan! …. President Charles Logan?….. crazy wife?? are you there? …Logans?
