David Anders joins cast of Heroes

More HEROES casting news today and this time I’m beyond excited!! Kristin Veitch of E! Online just broke the news that David Anders, who is best known for his role as Sark on Alias, will indeed be joining the cast of Heroes.

According to Veitch, “Anders has been given the much coveted series-regular role of Kane, a Sark-ish character who just so happens to be 1,000 years old, for the upcoming second season of Heroes. ”

Great news for fans of Alias…and Heroes.

Sark on Heroes? Be still my heart! The brief glimpse we had of him on the Private Practice pilot last month made me wish he could be in more things — and behold, my wish is granted!

I was thinking of David Anders 3 months ago, and then when Michael Vartan was listed for a new ABC show, I new David would be next for something. Ironically, I was casting him in my mind in Heroes or Lost. I think he is so great.

I never watched Alias so I’m not familiar with the actor, but the tidbit about his character being 1,000 years old answers my question about the heroes being a specific contemporary phenomenon, or a recent evolutionary occurance…just a thought.

Oh my word. “I’ve got the vapors!”

Yayyy! I’ve been thinking for a while that he’s such a good actor and deserves to be on a huge hit show. I’m so excited for him…and me, of course. 😉

Like Emily above, I’m not familiar with him but the fact that he will be “1000 years old” is a very interesting tidbit, and I suspect will be tied to that final scene in the finale.

Ok, I just read this and I am really confused.

…. Anders will play the most intriguing part, that of the ancient samurai warrior Takezo Kensei, Hiro Nakamura’s (Masi Oka) childhood hero.
