THE OFFICE = Happiness

Cast of THE OFFICE

From the moment I woke up this morning I’ve been in a particularly good mood.  I’m still a little under the weather and I only slept about 2 hours last night, so my giddiness was a bit bizarre to say the least.  Then I logged on to People.com and read that the first read through of Season 4 of THE OFFICE was today, and the cast is back in session filming on Monday.  Suddenly it all made sense.  Somewhere in Cali, at the end of a nothing-special street, the cast and crew of THE OFFICE gathered for the first time since probably late March.  Just the thought of the cast of my favorite show being all together again is enough to make me happy.

Me on the set of THE OFFICE

This summer has been a bit of a break from THE OFFICE for me.  I spend so much time during the TV season thinking about it, writing about it and talking about it that I thought it would be good to take a step back.  There has not been one Thursday this whole summer where I haven’t received at least five emails asking if I have given up on OFFICE THURSDAY on GMMR – I haven’t, just taking a little hiatus.  Have I found a new TV boyfriend to replace John Krasinski?  No, but JKras and I needed a little “me” time so we can really appreciate each other. Nothing has changed, it just a summer break…I promise.

It’s been nice, I won’t lie.  I’ve gone out on Thursday nights with my friends and didn’t feel any guilt about missing the show (because let’s face it, I’ve seen every single episode at least 5 times…even “Phyllis’s Wedding”) . I have spent more Thursdays that not this past year with all of you in live chats, on GMMR, etc, and I thought it would be nice to head out to a bar or to a friend’s roofdeck on a Thursday night…just to see what it felt like.

But much like the cast, my summer break is coming to a close.  I’m ready for a new season of THE OFFICE.  One that begins with four 1-hour episodes…with Jim & Pam dating (sweet Lord above I hope they are because I couldn’t take the disappointment)…with Ryan as Michael’s boss…and with Kelly single (and hopefully on the prowl for a new man, because she deserves one).

So I’m going to start gearing up for Season 4 and I hope you’ll all be with me for the ride again this season.  If you are a regular reader of GMMR and not a fan of THE OFFICE (is that possible?) then enjoy the respite while it lasts because my favorite show is coming back with a 1-hour season premiere on September 27th.  It’s going to be hard to wait that long but I know it will be worth it!

All together now….THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID!!

Never looked forward to September quite as much – DVD on the 4th and a new hour-long ep on the 27th.

They’re back on set and all is right with the world.

I litterly yelled after reading that article, I was happy that Jenna was feeling better (and is aparently being treated like a princess, six chairs to choose from?!?!?!? 😉 ), but, whenever I read that they did the read through yesterday, and filming on Monday, I became VERY giddy. (yes, giddy). The “fate” of Jim and Pam, the outcome of Ryan’s promotion, and the reactions from a very presumably emotionally unstable Kelly, and a depressed Michael has been revealed to a group of very funny actors, and I can’t wait any longer. I want my four one hour episodes RIGHT NOW.

Oh, yeah. I was giddy all day yesterday just knowing they were back to work on my favorite show. I agree with Lisa in that September is going to be a great Office month. Don’t forget about the Emmy’s and hopefully a lot of awards for our favorite cast and show!
