Gunn and Weisman Heading Down OCTOBER ROAD - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

Gunn and Weisman Heading Down OCTOBER ROAD

Sean Gunn and Kevin Weisman

I tried to watch OCTOBER ROAD last season. I swear I did. But to say it wasn’t my cup of tea is putting it lightly. I actually gave it a good shot because I wanted to love it, but no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t get over the holes in the plot line and the less than stellar writing. But despite all its shortcomings they have recently made some casting choices that have a hint of genius to them.

According to TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello, Sean Gunn and Kevin Weisman have both signed on for multiple episode arcs in the upcoming season of OCTOBER ROAD.

Sean Gunn, whom I’ve adored for years as Kirk on GILMORE GIRLS, will be showing up as a fry cook at the bar where Janet works. He’s also secretly in love with her. Now if I knew who Janet was..hmmm. I think I’m going to have to keep my eye out for his arc because there’s no way I can’t watch Kirk.

And if Sean Gunn returning to TV isn’t enough then how about the return of Kevin Weisman. Yes, the former ALIAS star has also signed on for a few eps as a colleague of Nick’s whose nose is out of joint because he’s no longer the BPOC (big professor on campus).

New TV show pitch…
Sean Gunn and Kevin Weisman star as Dirk and Darshall, best friends and roommates who want nothing more than to be rich and famous. Dirk thinks his golden ticket is tied to one of his many (failed) inventions. Meanwhile, little did he know that his best friend Darshall is the world’s leading creator and proprietor of seemingly eccentric but incredibly useful gadgets for an undercover branch of the CIA. Not wanting to put his friend Dirk in danger, Darshall tells his friend that he works at a bank.

Together the duo navigate life, love and international terrorists in this buddy comedy from NBC (or ABC, FOX, CBS)

…and if that show doesn’t work out Josh Schwartz could hire either of them for a role on CHUCK and I’d be happy.

I love Sean Gunn!!!! Okay, I watched most of it last year, and I agree with all of the plot lines, and poor writing, but there was something about it that I wanted to see, (Kind of like Pam’s explaination of the Dundies, like a car crash you want to look away from, but you just can’t). And Janet was the chick that sorta kinda ended up with what’s-his-name, George Stults or whatever.

His name is actually Geoff Stults…haha, George, Geoff, same thing.

Despite the holes in the plot, etc. I have watched OR. Its good entertainment if anything- has anyone really holed up in their house since 9/11 and never come out? i’m kind of excited to see the type of character Sean Gunn plays- is it going to be the quirky Kirk type? i’d love it!

Janet was the “fat” girl. More like the normal one if you ask me. She has a crush on the “good looking” guy. Scandel! GLG is scared to be seen with UG and it’s all drama. I liked this show. I love Brian Austin Green – oh, wait, it’s not him, it’s that guy Jake from One Tree Hill. Whatever, I thought it was fun. Way better than What About Bryan.

Did you make up the description and names for Dirk and Darshall? I didn’t watch too much Alias, but I can so see that charactor on that show and Dirk sounds so much like Kirk (even the names).

Yeah, i was just kidding around Mannie. Kevin Weisman played Marshall Flinkman, whose job it was to supply Sydney Bristow with all her spy gadgets.

haha oh, this could be awesome… Kirk and Janet could totally be a cute couple. I didn’t want Janet with that asshole whatshisname anyways 😉

Too bad, that sounded like it could have been a good show. 🙂

GMMR, you crack me up. What would you call your show the Double D’s?? D-Days?

I gave up on this show after the first couple of episodes, it just couldn’t hold my interest. I thought the kid was cute though.
