Ryan Seacrest to Host My Birthday Party

August 21, 2007 by

Ryan Seacrest

…ok maybe that’s not really true, but Seacrest seems to be popping up as host of everything these days, so why not my next birthday bash.  It was just announced that Ryan Seacrest will be hosting this year’s Emmy awards.  An announcement that comes just about a week after it was announced that Seacrest would be hosting the Superbowl – because that makes perfect sense – Ryan Seacrest & football. Hmm.

I’ll tell you this much, if Ryan Seacrest mysteriously washes up on the shore of some beach in Malibu the first person they should look to is Carson Daly.  Something tells me that Carson might be a tad bit bitter that Seacrest stole his career. Remember when Carson was the next Dick Clark?  Yeah. But if I’m being honest, as ubiquitous as Seacrest is…I’d take him over Carson Daly any day!

I’m actually glad that Seacrest is hosting the Emmys.  E! is going to need someone to replace Ryan on the red carpet, and this just might be the break that Kristin Veitch needs to make her mark.  Love her or not, Kristin knows TV and as a frequent watcher of E!’s Emmy coverage, it always infuriates me when Seacrest and Guiliana DiPandi are interviewing TV stars and asking them mundane questions that they’ve been asked a hundred times before while Veitch is relegated to the pre-show.  Come on, make it interesting for the TV fans at home…give Kristin something more to do.

…Seacrest out (don’t get any ideas Carson)

Pulling out the big words today GMMR. I never thought about the Carson Daly connection but you are so right. Poor Carson. I think Ryan will be a good Emmy host because he knows how to move the show along. Let’s hope he doesn’t try to be funny though because he’s not.

If I’m being honest, I spend a lot of time on TV Guide and don’t know of Kristin Veitch that well. But if you say that she would do a good job I’m sure she would. I’m a little confused why E hasn’t had their TV expert running the red carpet this whole time. Am I missing something?

I understand the Emmys but the superbowl?? I don’t get that. What if Kristin and Ausiello just hosted their own Emmy show. All the dieheard fans would watch that one instead.

I hate hate hate hate the fact Seacrest is hosting the Emmy’s. Comedy and Seacrest don’t go together. Seriously, his involvement ruins my entire viewing experience (at least I have The Office noms to keep me going)..

And it’s funny you mentioned the Carson Daly thing. As soon as I heard Ryan was hosting, I immediately thought Carson Daly must have been busy.

that was a hilarious headline alone. And seriously E! Wake up. We want Veitch.

Ummm. Since when does the Super Bowl need a host? I don’t ever remember that happening before.

You think that Carson Daly is bitter? What about that Brian Dunkelberger (sp?) guy that hosted the first season of Idol with Ryan? hahahahaha
