E! Needs a New Red Carpet Host

With the announcement that Ryan Seacrest will be hosting this year’s Emmy Awards, it seems that E! will be looking for a replacement to handle Ryan’s red carpet duties. As a long time viewer of E! Emmy coverage, I always wondered why their resident TV expert, Kristin Veitch (now Kristin Dos Santos) didn’t have a bigger role on TV’s most important night. Kristin often participates in the Emmy pre-show but is rarely heard from once the major red carpet telecast starts.

There’s no one at E! who knows more about TV so it only makes sense that Kristin be the one to interview the stars that she spends all year covering. I know if I’m going to be spend all day watching the Emmy coverage (which I do) then I want it to be interesting and insightful.

If you agree that Kristin should have a larger role on E! Emmy Day, then sign the attached petition and leave a  comment as to why E! should consider Kristin as Ryan’s replacement.

Why am I doing this? Kristin was the first person that made it ok for me not to just watch TV but to care about it. I always thought Kristin had the dream job, and she’s a big reason that GMMR exists.I have nothing to gain from this…it’s all about showing the love, and this is an oh so tiny way to do it.

    I would love to see KDS doing the red carpet @ the Emmys … but of course, Ryan will be doing those, too.

    Later that night, he’ll be hosting my post-Emmy party, hosting my tucking-in-party, giving commentary on my toothbrushing, and then doing 3 radio shows before dawn.

    Job-hog.

    Just signed the petition – this is a great idea. I can’t think of anyone else at E! I would want to see doing the red carpet interviews for the Emmys. She definitely would know exactly what to ask everyone, unlike many other red carpet hosts who only ask about what people are wearing or who they’re dating (though I sometimes do want to know that too!). I hope E! makes the right choice and puts Kristin on the red carpet at the Emmys
