BIG BROTHER Recap: And Then There Were Seven

August 24, 2007 by

Crazy isn’t just a song by Patsy Cline, it’s also the path that BIG BROTHER Jen took this past week. I’m not even sure where to begin, or what to cover because so much went down in the oh so dysfunctional house. I guess we’ll start with how this all came to be.

Last week Daniele had nominated Jameka and Amber for eviction. After winning the POV, Danielle took Amber off the block and backdoored Jen. Having been on the block numerous times before, Jen seemed unphased at first. She calmly confronted Daniele about the nomination, and remained pleasant when Dani stated that Jen was Dani’s biggest competition in the house and she needed her to leave (fair enough). Then there was some BS about Jen not needing or wanting to win as much as the other houseguests. I call BS on this one, because although Jen had said that the money wasn’t important she sure as hell did what she needed to do to stay in the game. Jen suffered more abuse in that house that anyone else, and the fact that she hadn’t already quit said a lot about how much she wanted to stick around and play. Well, until this week.

While Daniele and Amber were in NYC playing POWER OF 10, some seriously crazy sh%# went down in the house. I’m not sure what happened, but some kind of blood vessel popped in Jen’s head and she started losing it. With the full on crazy eyes, Jen started going around her room an putting all of her personal belongings into trash bags and then hiding them around the house. She then made her way into Dick’s room and pulled out four carton of his cigarettes (oh no, Jen don’t do it…he’s going to cut you) before proceeding to the storage room where she dumped out all the cigs, broke them and doused them in bleach. (Oh snap, I hope she has a good will).

Ironically, just about this time, Jessica said to Dick that he should go hide his cigarettes because Jen was going to do something to them. He heads inside only to find his cartons gone. Thinking Jen hid them, he goes on his search. Jen and her crazy eyes try to act all innocent but Dick’s not buying it. Those of us watching the live feeds improved our vocabulary on this particular night…I had no idea there were so many expletives based on variations of the words ‘bitch’ and ‘whore’.

Jen has been taking Dick’s verbal tirades front he first day in the house, and I think she finally lost it. After crossing the line of no return, Jen continued her stroll down spazzville and started eating anything and everything in the house…despite being on slop. The houseguests were not pleased that she basically ruined the integrity of the game (yeah, it took me three times to write that because I was laughing so hard). What CBS didn’t show was Jen’s bitching all week about going to the sequester house. She was saying that she was going to refuse because she had a life and a career (as Vanna White’s soon-to-be-ex-Nanny) to get back to.

In the end, Big Brother penalized Jen by putting one automatic vote against her on eviction night. Everyone else was sick of her antics and had no problem voting her out 6-0. There were a few polite hugs as Jen left the house but to say it was awkward would be a major understatement. She thanked Dani for “having her back” and a very bitter Eric said that as happy as Jen was to leave, they were happier to see her go (Eric wasn’t pissed that someone would mess with the rules of his favorite reality show).

Jen and her crazy eyes went to talk to the Chen-Bot and I was convinced that she was going to pull out a makeshift oozie and go postal in the CBS Studio. Sadly she didn’t.

Back in the house the houseguests rejoiced in Jen’s departure. It was time for HOH and Jessica took it home again! Yeah, Jessica. I find you delightful and I have beaten myself with a wooden stick for making fun of you earlier in the season. I still don’t think you’re going to grow up to be a rocket scientist, but you are a fun little spark of positive energy in the house…and we need that with all these nutjobs you live with. I’m glad she won!! Although I am a tiny bit sad that it wasn’t Amber. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to see Amber in control…I actually want to see her gone, but I think it would be nice if she got a letter from her daughter and got the opportunity to write a blog (although I’m not sure if she knows how to read or spell).

Oh and my last thought…how about evicted houseguest Nick being Dani’s “friend” in the studio audience on Power of 10. We have to assume by now that Dani’s boyfriend Kris has dumped her ass. Either that or CBS is crossing some crazy lines and trying to turn Dani and Nick’s showmance into something it’s not. Sketchy!!

What did you think of last night’s eviction and the actions that led to it? Tell me…tell me!!

I’m so glad that Jen finally left the house. She went psycho this week. I still hate Dick but she was the one that started it by destroying his cigs. What was she thinking? There is something spooky about Jen. It’s like she’s a zombie or something.

This game is nutso. A few weeks back I was loving Dick and wanted him to win. Now i hate him. And I was hating Eric and now I feel like he’s shown he’s the best player in the game. Ups and downs I guess.

Jen didn’t start anything. Dick started everything by just being a dick. If someone had bullied me for weeks, they would have had to live with my psycho self for more than the two days Jen “lost it”. I loved her and am very sad to see her go. We’ll see how the rest of the HG’s survive without her to pick on 24/7.

Although Jen wasn’t my favourite character, I felt SO badly over the last few weeks for her. I can’t believe BB let Dick be so mean to her…he bullied her to no end – emotionally and physically. I was glad for her that she finally got out of there. It was so sad when her and Dick were physically fitting over the cigarette – Jen had snapped and Dick was crazy too. It wasn’t entertaining, I was embarrassed. I can’t believe BB let it get that far. I hope it’s more entertaining from now on, and less mean.

Oh I totally forgot to mention the cigarette fight…that was huge, as it was the moment where Jen was most vulnerable. Sorry, that was a big oversight on my part.

Jen’s behavior was like a kid that had been repeatedly bullied in the school yard…she finally broke down and went nuts.

I felt SO bad for Jen last night. She put up with a lot on this show and it finally caught up with her. It was terrible watching her on the verve of tears with Dick and his cigarettes. He’s such a bastard.

Hate Dick, abusing egotistacal basta*d and Could not stand Jen, such a self centered bit*h. I reveled in watching those 2 battle each other on a daily basis I’m almost sorry to see her go…almost.
