NBC’s New Fall Shows at Blockbuster

If you want to check out NBC’s new Fall shows you don’t have to wait until they premiere to see them. And no, I’m not suggesting you download them illegally. Just head to Blockbuster and rent the pilot episodes CHUCK, JOURNEYMAN and LIFE (I guess BIONIC WOMAN wasn’t quite ready yet).

If you do go out and rent them, make sure you come back to GMMR and let us know what you thought of the new shows. (I’m secretly hoping you all love CHUCK as much as I do).

Thanks to Megan for the tip (she rented the premieres last night so hopefully she’ll share her thoughts).

NOTE: PLEASE do not place ANY spoilers for the premieres in the comments. All comments with spoilers will be removed.

I actually saw a commercial the other day that stated that these shows were available free on demand through my cable provider…so you might look there too. I haven’t checked any of them out yet, but I am planning on it…maybe this weekend.

if you have a TiVo as well, you can download them through the Unbox thing with Amazon… I haven’t done so yet, but I know that they are free there.

I did check out the shows and I absolutely adored Chuck! It is funny and smart, and the clear stand-out of the three shows. You’ll fall in love with Chuck almost instantaneously. It will certainly be on my “must list” for fall TV. Which won’t be hard to do given its placement before Heroes. Zachary Levi has a certain charisma about him reminiscent of John Krasinski.

Journeyman was engaging and looks promising but I’d watch another episode or two before making a final decision.

I had high-hopes for Life because I loved Damien Lewis, but the show was a little disjointed and I didn’t connect with any of the characters. Maybe future episodes make this cop-turned-con-turned-cop-again story more believable.

I love “Chuck”! I’ll definitely be watching it this fall. Haven’t checked out “Journeyman” or “Life” yet but if they are free on TiVo like the person above said then I definitely will!

Chuck was really great! It’ll be around all season.

Bionic Woman, which is free on Amazon (but as you mentioned, NOT on the Blockbuster DVD) was disappointing. It didn’t really hook me. A few standout cool moments, but for the most part not really exciting or anything that has me wanting to see more. I’ll give it an episode or two more….

Probably will get to “Life” soon….

I used Amazon Unbox to download Chuck and Bionic Woman (though it took forever to download for some reason). I haven’t yet watched either, but I’m really looking forward to both shows. I did hear they were doing some re-tooling still on Bionic Woman, so for those who weren’t too crazy about the pilot, maybe the changes will improve it.
