What to Watch…Tuesday, October 2, 2007

October 2, 2007 by

Is it wrong that I look forward to Tuesday’s because there’s not a lot of TV on? I know, I know as a TV lover it should bum me out, but sista needs a break every once in a while. Here’s the shows I’m going to be watching tonight, and then a few others that might entice a few of you.

What will YOU be watching tonight?

Cavemen | Series Premiere | 8pm on ABC
Cavemen Three Neanderthal pals struggle to fit into their modern suburban community. First up: Joel tries to keep his Homo-sapien girlfriend a secret from Nick, Maurice and his brother, Andy, who has relationship woes of his own.

The most universally panned show of the new TV season. Why do I think I’m going to wake up tomorrow and hear that Cavemen kicked ass in the ratings? And I fully expect the flood of emails saying “it’s not as bad as I thought it would be”. You are wrong!

Carpoolers | Series Premiere | 8:30pm on ABC
CarpoolersFour very different guys bond while sharing the drive to and from work. First up: Gracen (Fred Goss) has a crisis of confidence when his slacker son gets a job making more money than he does. He also fears his wife outearns him.

This show did nothing for me. I’m not sure which will go first, Cavemen or Carpoolers. I fear that it might be Carpoolers because it won’t have the morbid obsession that Cavemen might. I just didn’t find this show about 4 guys carpooling together funny. I struggled to watch the full pilot back in the summer when I first got it in the mail. I think I’m just used to comedies like The Office, 30 Rock, and How I Met Your Mother…this show is NOT those.

Reaper | 9pm on The CW
Reaper (CW)“Charged”
Sam’s latest mission—should he choose to accept it—is to use a remote-control monster truck to capture the latest escaped soul: one who sucks energy from power lines for strength.

House | 9pm on Fox
“The Right Stuff”
A prospective astronaut has an attack of synesthesia in a flight simulator, then asks House to diagnose her off the books. House shares the case with the candidates he has rounded up to replace Cameron, Chase and Foreman (40 of them, initially).

It seems many of you loved last week’s HOUSE premiere as much as I did. Well get ready for another fantastic episode tonight. Dr. Gregory House is at his caustic best when he tries to find a new team to replace Cameron, Chase and Foreman. You’ll recognize a few faces including Kal Penn (Harold & Kumar) and Olivia Wilde (The Black Donnellys). And there might just be a few blasts from the past making their appearance at Princeton Plainsboro….or will they?

The Office | 10 & 10:30pm on TBS
“The Dundies” and “Office Olympics”
Just a heads up that two of my favorite episodes of THE OFFICE will be airing on TBS tonight. First up is the S2 premiere episode, “The Dundies” – one of the best in the history of the show, and then followed by “Office Olympics”. Both episodes are hysterical and feature some of the most classic moments in Office history. And if you’re into the Office romance then check out these eps to see the first time Jim & Pam kiss, and just why that gold foil label was so important to Jim in last year’s season finale.

Also playing…

  • The Singing Bee | 8pm on NBC
  • Beauty & the Geek | 8pm on The CW
  • Bones | 8pm on Fox
  • NCIS | 8pm on CBS
  • The Biggest Loser| 8:30pm on NBC
  • The Unit | 9pm on CBS
  • Dancing with the Stars | 9pm on ABC
  • Boston Legal | 10pm on ABC
  • Cane | 10pm on CBS

Speaking of The Office… I was at Target last night and right inside the door with all the $1 treasures were a bunch of The Office office supplies, including but not limited to:

Michael, Jim, and Dwight notepads, mousepad notepads, magnetic erasable task boards, pens, sticky notes… I was sure to pick myself up about $10 worth of goodness! I might even go back for more! It was mostly Michael Jim and Dwight with a few Phyllis things, no Pam, Angela, etc. 🙁
