What to Watch…Tuesday, October 23, 2007

My Tuesday night is pretty TV light as is but it might become even lighter. I gotta tell you, REAPER is not keeping my attention. I wasn’t as head over heels with the pilot as many but I still found it enjoyable, but since then the show has become a bit repetitive and formulaic and it’s losing me. I’m not one for formulaic TV, but it can be done well. For instance the same thing happens week in and week out on HOUSE, but the writing and the acting is so good that I still find it fresh and interesting. I can’t say the same about REAPER. Come you REAPER die hards…convince me to keep the show on my TiVo.
Not a lot on for me tonight…what are YOU watching.

“What About Blob?”
Sam finally sees the contract, but it’s in Latin and thousands of pages long. Meanwhile, his latest escaped soul turns out to be a slippery character who was involved with toxic waste.
House | 9pm on Fox
“Guardian Angels”
While having a seizure, a funeral-home cosmetician (Azura Skye) hallucinates that she’s being assaulted by one of the corpses she’s working on. And later, in the hospital, she acts as though her dead mother is in the room with her. (Watch scenes from tonight’s HOUSE)

“The Fight” and “Email Surveillance”
– After Dwight karate punches Michael, Jim sets up a lunchtime rematch at Dwight’s dojo, where Pam becomes annoyed by Jim’s friendliness.
– Big Brother invades the office when Michael gains access to his employees’ e-mails and begins spying on their correspondence. Also, Michael’s ego is bruised when he’s not invited to an afterwork party.

I started out watching “Reaper” and it’s on my TiVo now but I haven’t brought myself to watch it in the past 2 weeks… it’s just not something I’m dying to do. So, I will probably give up on it really soon – I was never that hugely into it but I thought it maybe could be interesting.
Really? I LOVE Reaper! I just think it’s a bit of fun, I think that the actors are great, the writing is funny, you feel for the characters. I am really enjoying it.
Just between you and me though, i’m an Australian, so i get few of the many fall shows to pick from. But Reaper and Pushing Daisies are definitely my highlights. I either haven’t seen the other shows or i watched one and thought meh.
Maybe it helped that when i first saw it i had 3 to watch in a row…
I think GMMR should add Bones to its repertoire. There are two great tv boyfriends on the show, it’s witty and interesting and there’s great subplots. It’s much more character driven than CSI and other mystery/crime shows.
Just my two cents.
I agree with you that reaper has been a bit to predictable. but it has alot of potential and this week was a little different from the usual format.
