TV Bloggers on the Fall Season So Far

November 27, 2007 by

Bret Harrison (Reaper), Zachary Levi (Chuck), Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies) - USA Today

At the beginning of the TV season, all of us TV bloggers were ranting and raving about our favorite new shows of the 2007 TV season. Most of our predictions were based on having seen the pilot episode during the summer. I was telling anyone that would listen to watch PUSHING DAISIES and CHUCK, but even at the time I had one seen one episode of those shows. So now, as we enter December, Scooter McGavin polled a few TV bloggers to find out which were our favorite new shows of the season (now that we have enough episodes under our belt).Below are the top 10 shows according to TiFaux, Ducky Does TV, Like a Brickstorm, GloxyBox, Ramblings of a TV Whore, Daemons TV, Scooter McGavin, Tube Talk Girl, TVFan, and Tapeworthy:

Note: Numbers in (parentheses) denote first place votes and those in bold indicate my votes.

  1. Pushing Daisies – ABC (8)
  2. Chuck – NBC (2)
  3. Dirty Sexy Money – ABC
  4. The Big Bang Theory – CBS
  5. Gossip Girl – CW
  6. Aliens in America – CW
  7. Samantha Who? – ABC
  8. Moonlight – CBS (1)
  9. Reaper – CW
  10. Journeyman – NBC

Other shows that received votes: Life, Women’s Murder Club, Private Practice, Bionic Woman, Cane, K-Ville

Find out MY favorite freshman shows (after the jump…)

So that’s what TV bloggers in general were thinking, but here is how I’m ranking MY favorite new shows of the fall season.

  1. Pushing Daisies
  2. Chuck
  3. Dirty Sexy Money
  4. Gossip Girl
  5. Journeyman
  6. The Big Bang Theory
  7. Private Practice
  8. Moonlight
  9. Life
  10. Reaper
  11. K-Ville
  12. Bionic Woman

Note: I haven’t seen enough episode of Aliens in America, Samantha Who, Women’s Murder Club or Cane to properly rank them.

So what’s your take on the 2007 freshman season so far. What are your top faves?

My new favs are Pushing Daisies, Chuck, Private Practice..all three I must watch every week. Not on your list – but I loving it still is Samantha Who. I also think I’ll like DSM, but I am a number of episodes behind now, still saved on my pvr though.

Such is the life of a tv addict. 🙂

I believe the only new show I added was Pushing Daisies, but every week I am grateful I did watch it!

    My top picks are:

    1. Pushing Daisies
    2. Samantha Who?
    3. The Big Bang Theory

Those are the only new shows I’ve watched. They’re great. Love them!

Chuck is the only show I’ve added to my rotation this season. It’s such a fun, silly, asskicking good time.

Moonlight, Chuck, and Pushing Daisies. I like these new shows better than almost all of the returning shows I currently watching, excluding HIMYM.

GMMR, where did you get that picture?!

My favorites are Chuck in first place, closely tailed by Pushing Daisies, and Samantha Who?, which kind of surprised me in how quickly it became a favorite. Fourth place would be Dirty Sexy Money, which I also like quite a bit.

Emily, I was playing poker with Bret, Zach and Lee last week and I snapped this one with my digital. Or maybe it was lifted from the USA Today fall TV preview.

My “musts” are Chuck and Journeyman. Pushing Daisies and Reaper I like as well (though they are both basically procedurals). Big Bang Theory is ok. I haven’t really watched much else of the new shows. I can only watch so much TV in a week.

CHUCK and BIG BANG for me!

Samantha Who? Is awesome, GMMR, you reeeally should watch it!! 😉

I also love Pushing Daises, Dirty Sexy Money, Gossip Girl and Private Practice. But Boo to Cooper and Charlotte! (Coolotte?)

My favorite new shows are Pushing Daisies, Big Bang Theory, and Chuck. I am also sticking with Moonlight, Dirty Sexy Money, and Reaper. Overall, it has been a terrific tv season in my opinion.

The only new shows I’ve added are Pushing Daisies and Chuck and I love them both. Although I did catch Samantha Who? this week and liked it so maybe i’ll try to fit that in.

My new favorites are Pushing Daisies and Chuck. I liked Chuck at the beginning, but I just fall a bit more in love with it each time a new episode airs. Lee Pace is just wonderful and refreshing on Pushing Daisies.
GMMR, may I ask where you found that lovely picture of TV’s three newest cuties? When were they all together? Thanks!

Oops! Sorry for the double post — I just noticed your answer to my previous question. Those USA Today reporters are lucky people.

    1. CHUCK!!!!!
    2. LIFE!!!!!

    3. Samantha Who?
    4. Dirty Sexy Money
    5. Pushing Daisies
(tie) 6. Private Practice / Big Shots

When I write it down I realize just how many new shows I do watch! How do I fit it all in? I guess I didn’t watch that many shows during the fall before, but I do now! I just hope that the good shows during the summer don’t try and squeeze into the fall lineup. I just can’t handle that! Psych, The Closer, etc….
