Tonight we said goodbye to another AMERICAN IDOL contestant. Someone’s hopes and dreams were shattered by the American public. God we suck.

But before we get to those in the bottom three let’s play a little Idol Spy.

  • What well known faces were in the Idol audience tonight? Well, obviously you couldn’t miss Jim Carrey even if you tried. He must have pulled the short straw for that one. Guess Carell couldn’t take time off from his day job to make it across town tonight.
  • Then we had a Sanjaya Malakar and sister Sanjaya sighting. Heard he’s doing bat mitzvahs these days. Anything to pay the bills.
  • Sitting right next to the family Malakar was Reid Scott from “My Boys” – a TBS comedy, hmmm. What was he doing there? Well he did guest on last week’s “Unhitched” which is a Fox show. Doesn’t matter, the more Reid Scott the better.
  • And of course, Katharine McPhee performed, and I must say that most of the performances last night were better than Kat. To say I was unimpressed would be a bit of an understatement. Then again, I never had the McPheever.

The Bottom Three…

American Idol Bottom Three

Well the night didn’t start off well when one of my favorites, Syesha Mercado was put in the bottom three. I love this gal, and she so does not deserve to be going home tonight. The second contestant named, and rightfully so, was Kristy Lee Cook. Sadly for her that she was in the bottom three, and even sadder for us was that we had to listen to her rendition of “Eight Days a Week”. Rounding out the third was David Hernandez. Bummer dude. David is one of my favorites, and I hate that there’s a chance he’s going home.

After an hour of filler Seacrest finally got around to announcing just who was going home. And that person is…

David Hernandez

OH NO!!! Seriously? I had Kristy’s AI obit already written. WOW, seriously shocked!! Granted his performance last night wasn’t all that great, but personally I thought it was much better than Kristy’s.

I’m working tonight so I am thankful to you for posting who got kicked off. That is a shocker. I really thought Kristy was going to go home because her song was aweful. I too liked David. Oh well. I still have little Archuleta.

I’m on the West Coast, so the show hasn’t aired here yet. I’m not sure I’ll even watch it now, knowing that Kristy Lee Cook didn’t get the much-deserved boot. She ruined that song last night. This is a travesty. Maybe I’ll watch anyway, just to make fun of Katherine McWhatsherbutt…

Aww, Kristy’s still there? Man… I keep thinking she left ages ago.

Kristy’ is lucky to still be there…..she has the “look” and I am sure is getting all of the guy fans votes. There is a lot of great talant this season. The top 4 are Brooke, Carly, Michael and David Cook. They all have talant lets hope they all have a good fan base that can keep voting them through.

McPhee butchered my favorite song of all time. George Harrison is rolling in his grave.

okay, here’s my question – who in the hell keeps voting for amanda overmyer?? how was she not even in the bottom three? i have to admit, i liked her arrangement last night, but i can’t stand her voice and i really don’t understand how she’s still around.

also, yahoo says david hernandez used to be a stripper at a club in AZ with a “mostly male clientele”? I never heard that, but maybe that explains the sudden backlash against him?

I do believe it was a “give-in” that Kristy Lee Cook was going home, maybe a little too obvious that the show had to “change it up”.
BUT to NOT blame the show…I work with a bunch of mothers who take their children to the AI Tour for the top 10 and were just discussing that no matter how much they think David is a good singer, they would not take their children on tour if he was there…for the simple fact, he did strip for men.
It could be that most thought David would be kicked off due to the scandal, but when he was safe last week…well, could have made sure he was off this week.
I don’t care either way…I absolutely LOVE DAVID COOK!!

such a bummer about David Hernandez……..i think that the IDOL producers didn’t want his “scandal” ruining their sweet little show though, and that’s why he’s gone.
    conspiracy theory GMMR!!! ; )
