Talk to Me: HIMYM, Big Bang and Bachelor…

March 18, 2008 by

For those of you who might have just read a post saying how bummed I was that I missed HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and THE BIG BANG THEORY due to technical difficulties…yeah, scratch that.

CBS.com and I just had a nice hour together and I was able to watch the funny. Good times all around!

The Big Bang Theory…
My love for all things Sheldon knows no bounds. I know geek is the new stud, but Sheldon brings it to a whole other level. Jim Parsons’ deadpan deliver cracks me up. And the nerd love in the cold open was brilliant. It was nice to have the nerds back. I’m off to go see if I can blow up Ducky with just the power of my mind.

How I Met Your Mother…
Barney, HIMYM It was nice to see that Barney Stinson took the wardrobe recommendations I gave yesterday for this St. Paddy’s Day night on the town. How very Raven of him! Barney can top ‘o the mornin’ me anytime he wants. I didn’t realize just how much I missed those Barneyisms. Glad he’s back.

Robin still has nothing to do and doesn’t serve a real purpose in the show. Sorry, but true. But with the news of Robin Sparkles returning in the near future, I guess we’ll keep her around. At least she can hang with Marshall and Lily in their new, slanted apartment (oops!).

But the big news of the night was the spotting of the yellow umbrella. Yes, Ted’s future wife was at the club and they didn’t even meet. Was Mrs. Mosby perhaps the woman Ted bumped into at the bar? Nah, but nice try. To be honest, I’m not all that interested in meeting ‘the mother, is that wrong?

The Bachelor….
Still haven’t seen last night’s premiere of THE BACHELOR, but if you all think it’s worth checking out then maybe I’m going to have to go ahead and watch. Your call.

I love HIMYM!!! Recaps with a list of Barneyisms at the end would be much appreciated. Plus this show needs to have people talking about it. I really would like a 4th season.

When are you going to watch Lost? I can’t wait for your recap on that!

I bailed on work and am about to watch HIMYM! You have to check out the new bachelor! It’s Rock of Love meets Prince William! The bach is sweet but the ladies are crazy!

The best Big Bang moment. Penny cracked a joke to Sheldon and when he didn’t laugh, she clarified it was a joke..then he waited for a beat and made the funniest sarcastic laugh noise. LOVE the Sheldon/Penny hate relationship

SO excited to have a new episode of HIMYM! I like the undercurrent storyline of finding out who the mother is…but I’m not that excited or interested in it. I kind of feel like when the show has run its course (wayyyy down the road!), they will just introduce a new character and make that the mother. Have the producers/writers ever said they know who the mother is?

Watched BBT for the first time…pretty good – I will check it out again!

Also watched Christine – and really really enjoyed it. It makes me laugh – even though it’s not in the same comedy class (to me) as Office or 30 Rock. It was so funny when Christine was non stop with the druggie lingo!!

Oh ya – was that Vanessa Minnillo as Ted’s hook up at the bar? If so…gross – I’m not a fan.

To the poster upthread, I too loved the very delayed laughter from Sheldon after Penny’s joke, but I don’t think it was necessarily sarcastic; I think that’s just the way he laughs 🙂 And I say definitely give the Bachelor a try. I actually really like the guy and his dry Brit sense of humor. And the cocktail party has some priceless moments, cringeworthy and otherwise. Arm wrestling, clarinets, beer can biting, and hot dog vendors – what’s not to love?!
