Robin Sparkles Video – “Sandcastles in the Sand”

April 22, 2008 by

“Sandcastles in the Sand” by 90’s Canadian pop sensation Robin Sparkles wasn’t a mega hit like her debut single “Let’s Go to the Mall“, but it’s still a thing of beauty (albeit it Canadian beauty which is a little different) and will be watched over and over again.

Last night’s HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER brought back Robin Sparkles and added a little Dawson Leery into the mix just to make me happy. HIMYM is second only to LOST in their brilliant the use of flashbacks. Well then again, if you think about it, the whole show is a giant flashback. But I love some Robin Sparkles. And yes, I was happy to see James van der Beek back on TV, even if was that horrible fake Canadian accent.

The discovery of the music video for Robin’s second single wasn’t the real story last night. Nope it was the big ‘ol makeout between Robin and manwhore Barney Stinson that had my jaw on the ground. I’ve been waiting for these two to smooch since their laser tag flirting a while back. Do you think this is the grand plan? Will Barney be tamed by Scherbatsky? Do we want him to be tamed? What will Ted Schmosby think of his “other” best friend and his former love getting it on?

I’m eagerly awaiting Ted’s reaction. I mean, I’m stoked about Stella but there’s no way he’s going to be cool with Barney.

I don’t think Barney will ever be tamed. I think Barney and Robin will keep it a secret (“The Bro Code”), especially if it doesn’t become a regular thing. Of course, the group will probably find out eventually, and that should be interesting.

    1. James Van Der Beek’s accent was hurrendous lol ::hugs:: It sounded more scottish than Canadian but it was just good to see him on TV!

    2. Robin and Barney FTW! I think they’re great together – like you said, I’ve been waiting on this since laser tag!

    3. Funniest moment of the night (for me): “Tell me more, tell me more, like did he have a car?” – I just cracked up – I love Barney!

Loved the whole thing and actually was able to use the term revertigo today 🙂 The big moment for me was the genuine comforting of Robin by Barney in the penultimate bar scene. He really seemed sincere which Barney only seems upon rare occasion (going to go get Lily in SF after she broke up with Marshall) and it was so nice. The kissing was a foregone conclusion after that.

Haven’t watched the episode yet but I’m so excited to see it – not only is Dawson 😉 in the episode but Robin and Barney makeout? I totally have wanted them to get together since the first season – cannot wait till I can watch this! I don’t necessarily want them to be “couple” yet, but I am so glad for this development.

Ted has “broken up” with Barney as a result of the fallout from “Sandcastles” and “The Goat,” so Barney tries to move on by finding a new bro/Padawan to mold in his image.

    Looks like trouble for Stinson!!

Oops, sorry, I meant to write “SPOILER” at the top of that…
