What to Watch…Monday, April 28, 2008

April 28, 2008 by

Um, I’m just wondering if the networks could jam more shows into our Monday night lineup? It’s night like these that warrants me having two DVRS (that and my sick obsession with TV). It’s pretty overwhelming.

Normally my Monday morning excitement is all for THE BIG BANG THEORY and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, but tonight we also have GOSSIP GIRL and the looooong awaited return of HOUSE!! Have I mentioned how happy I am that the WGA strike is over?!

There’s no way I can watch it all tonight – some is just going to have to wait until the morning.

This begs the question…which shows are YOU most interested in talking about on GMMR tomorrow. Please leave a comment and let me know.

Gossip Girl | 8pm on The CW
“Desperately Seeking Serena”
As panic sets in for the juniors preparing to take their SATs, Serena has the added stress of dealing with the return of Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg), someone from her bad-girl past. Meanwhile, Jenny decides to get a boyfriend.

The Big Bang Theory | 8pm on CBS
“The Nerdmabelia Scattering”
The guys buy a time-machine prop from a ’60s movie and Penny ridicules their preoccupation with toys, which forces Leonard to reexamine his life and maturity.

Dancing with the Stars | 8pm on ABC
A fifth week of performances. Did anyone see the kids from ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ perform the opening number on ‘Idol Gives Back’? If you did maybe you understand why I can’t sit through Priscilla Presley doing the fox trot. Well that and looking at her face. That’s just scary.

Bones | 8pm on Fox
Bones“The Baby in the Bough”
A baby boy is discovered at the scene of his mother’s murder. While the Jeffersonian team carries out the investigation, the maternally challenged Brennan cares for the child.

How I Met Your Mother | 8:30pm on CBS
“The Goat”
Barney breaks the “Bro Code” in a matter involving Ted, and he has to deal with the consequences. Little Girl: Destiny Whitlock. Cindy: Megan McNulty. Carol: Alexis Krause.

House | 9pm on Fox
“No More Mr. Nice Guy”
House suspects that an ER patient with a sunny disposition has a bigger problem than was initially diagnosed. The reason: He thinks the patient is too nice. Meanwhile, House and Amber (Anne Dudek) spar over face time with Wilson. [GMMR: Check back soon for clips from tonight’s episode]

One Tree Hill | 9pm on The CW
One Tree Hill, James Lafferty “Life is Short”
Jamie celebrates his fifth birthday, and Lindsey returns to town to attend his party, giving Lucas hope for a reconciliation. Meanwhile, Brooke makes preparations in her life for a new baby.

Paradise Hotel 2 | 9pm on My TV
Paradise Hotel 2“The Return of Raheim”
I guess there’s no spoiler alert needed here. My least favorite of all the hotel guests comes back when Raheim makes a dramatic return to settle a score with a friend who betrayed him. Who is this friend? Is it James? I’m so confused

Samantha Who? |9:30pm on ABC
Samantha Who? (ABC)“The Gallery Show”
Sam asks a complete stranger named Craig to Todd’s photo gallery show in order to prove to Todd that she’s over him. But is Craig as much of a stranger as Sam thinks he is? Meanwhile, one of Todd’s photos on display is a shot of Sam.

The Bachelor | 10pm on ABC
The Bachelor - Matt GrantMatt accompanies Amanda, Chelsea and Shayne to Barbados for outdoor adventures and (he hopes) overnight romance in his “fantasy suite.” The outdoor part (jet skiing, zip-lining and swimming with turtles) is exhilarating.

Medium | 10pm on NBC
Medium, NBC “Car TRouble”
Joe surprises Allison by buying her a used car, but Allison’s subsequent visions warn of the vehicle’s unsavory past. Meanwhile, Allison grows unsettled upon meeting Joe’s sightly business partner, venture capitalist Meghan Doyle (Kelly Preston).

Also playing…

  • Greek | 8pm on ABC Family: Dale helps Rusty get a date; Casey comes to terms with her split from Evan when a majority of her Zeta sisters want to reunite with the Omegas.
  • Two and a Half Men | 9pm on CBS: CWhile Alan plans Evelyn’s wedding, Charlie plans his next conquest—his future stepsister (Jenny McCarthy). Teddy: Robert Wagner. Minister: Steve Tom.
  • Rules of Engagement | 9:30pm on CBS: Jeff tries to lose weight so he can fit the optimal-male category on his life-insurance policy, and the exam is only days away. Meanwhile, Adam runs into an ex-girlfriend, and Jennifer becomes jealous.
  • CSI: Miami | 10pm on CBS: Clues in a case involving the discovery of a body in a sinkhole point the CSIs to a robbery that’s being planned on a target who holds a disturbing secret.
  • Conversations with Michael Eisner | 9pm on CNBC: The former head of Disney now has his own talk show (how the mighty have fallen). Tonight Michael talks with Director Garry Marshall and THE OFFICE’s Rainn Wilson.

So much to watch, so little space on the TiVo. What will YOU be watching tonight? Whew, I’m wiped.

I’ll be watching Bones of course, and loving it…but I also love me some Sheldon, so BBT…and I like Samantha Who…should be good. I can’t believe it, but I actually look forward to Mondays…and that is saying a lot.

My Monday is Bones, OTH and The Bachelor. Although I won’t be home tonight to watch any of it. I am just not a comedy girl these days so I only watch HIMYM occasionally and didn’t get into any new comedies this year. I might have watched Gossip GIrl of the CW wasn’t pushiing it so hard as the “next big thing” and now I am so annoyed with how they are promoting it I don’t know if I will even watch it when it comes out on DVD.

Seriously … it’s about TIME we got some new House! That’s what’s got me most excited about tonight. Although, I have been looking forward to this episode of Bones, too. But House and Cut Throat Bitch fighting over Wilson? That’s love… 🙂

Here’s a fun little fact, Kimber…CTB is Tessa, Booth’s old GF!, but you probably knew that 🙂

Monday can be super busy for me (last year I watched Prison Break, 24, Heroes, and HIMYM; this fall it was Chuck, Heroes, Journeyman, and HIMYM). But the only remaining Monday show for me right now is HIMYM, except that I probably will watch the Big Bang Theory. Although I don’t think it’s in the same league as comedies like HIMYM, Office, 30 Rock, or Scrubs, I am warming to it. It can get too sitcom-y but I like the nerd humor.

I was never able to get into House. And I’ll never understand the appeal of Dancing with People You May Have Heard of.
