Who Went Home on AMERICAN IDOL Tonight?

UPDATE: Looking to find who went home on IDOL? Click here for tonight’s shocking results: Who Went Home on AMERICAN IDOL? (March 17, 2010)

The following is the AMERICAN IDOL update from April 30th

Let’s make this short and sweet.

Someone went home on IDOL tonight. And all that you really need to know is that is wasn’t David Archuleta or David Cook. Those two guys weren’t even in the bottom two. And shockingly, neither was Jason Castro. Thank goodness for voting tweeners.

So that left the final two ladies, Brooke and Syesha. One of them will go home and the other will try to make it another week against these power house guys.

Ryan read the results, and a teary eyed….

Brooke White went home. Syesha is safe. And Syesha better have the performance of her life (and her next life) if she wants to make it past Jason Castro next week. Oops, was I predicting the future? My bad, I should leave that to Paula.

So yeah, Brooke went home, and I have no problem with it. She was a little over dramatic, but I’m a bitch. I mean did she really think she had a shot at winning it all. Come on now.

See you in the finale Brooke.

IDOL experts…let me ask you this? Has anyone eve been in the IDOL bottom two more times that Syesha. I wonder.

Until next week!! So did YOU think Brooke was the right one to go home tonight? Should have it been Syesha or Jason? Share…don’t hold back.

(P.S. I think my excited for the upcoming season of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE in unnatural. What a fantastic promo during tonight’s IDOL. Cat Deely – I’m looking forward to see you on May 22nd)

I’m not sorry that Brooke went home. I was sick of listening to her two cents every two seconds while Simon was talking. However, I’m not sure she necessarily deserved to go home more than Jason “I wear eyeshadow” Castro. I’m sick of him too.

Glad Syesha is still around though. She’s got more personality than the rest of the contestants combined.

it was definitely time for her to go. I think it is Jason’s turn next week. I always skip the results shows as I can’t stand how they drag it out to build tension. It seems so cruel to the contestants.

Jason Castro is so far out of his league it isn’t even funny. He is the Sanjaya of the season, IMHO. Brook is actually a good singer, but in a Carly Simon/Carole King kinda way, not what American Idol fans want to see and hear.

Finale: David on David, and with Cook’s talent for making a song his own, I can only hope it will be him. Archuletta is talented for sure, but I see another Clay Aiken in our future…

Michael did you just compare Archuleta to Clay? Ugh…

Does anyone know the theme for next week?

Self proclaimed idol expert here! Tonight Syesha broke Nikki McKibben’s record for being in the bottom group the most (according to her wikipedia page). That is sad for Nikki, because honesly, that had to be the only record she held in her life…ever.

I heart Syesha, and I am hoping that she makes it just one more week, because 1. She deserves it and is awesome, and 2. she will have a “homecoming” gala for the top 3, and as a local Florida fan of hers, I love an excuse to stalk the show.

I am glad Brooke went home. I disagree with the comparison to Carole King/Carly Simon. Both of those artists have range, which Brooke has yet to develop, vocally or stylistically. Jason’s voice may be over-stylized, but he can actually sing high/middle/low successfully. Brooke could not.

The funny thing is that the sort of singer that Brooke wants to be is the kind of music that I really enjoy. Likely making me a much harsher critic. Contrarily, I do not like the style of David Cook, but I am absolutely entranced by his voice. He, quite literally, had me at “Hello.”

The theme for next week is Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. So, hm, who’s gonna be the best? Possibly THE ROCKER! OH YEAH!

I felt bad Brooke left – she knew it BEFORE Ryan even said (they must have given her a “heads up”.
Jason is so boring it’s killing me!
Syesha – I hated her from the beginning, so she’ll probably be in the top 3.
I know everyone likes “little” David, but for god sake, his voice is really starting to get on my nerves! Everyone I know just loves him, everyone, but me!
As for the Clay reference – at least Clay had stage presence and could hit a high note.
I can only hope America does it right and goes with what Paula said, David Cook is the American Idol.

Hubby an I were rooting for Brook…..to get voted off! She has a decent voice but she lacked genuine personality. I laugh at Micheals post because I said the same thing about David A. being the next Clay just last night!

BTW congrats to Chris and Whitney!!!!!!

Karen – Why is that I have never watched an episode of IDOL with you. Actually watching with you would be one thing, but I’d love to watch an episode with Dave. Does he scream at the TV like he does when he’s watching the Sox? Classic!!

We might not be related. The idea of my sister and brother-in-law rooting for Brooke? Really?

Tessahessa – so agree with you. I’m a huge fan of the great female singer/song writers and so I saw that glimmer in Brooke and am probably more critical because it is one of my favorite styles. But the greats have a unique sound and are naturals and Brooke is not. I hope that she can find a niche as I do like her as a person.

I voted for the first time the other night and my vote went to Syesha as I wanted the really talented woman to stick around. That girl can sing really sing. Yes, she’s probably headed to Broadway but that’s okay. I just think it’s been a travesty so far that she has been so underrated. So maybe all the old gals like me got on the phone (or texted) to save her.

Cook for a much-deserved win but I fear that the win may not be as good for him as runner-up.

As talented as she is, Syesha will be the next to go. There’s no way Jason Castro will go before she does. The final 3 will be all guys! David Cook will take it all in the end and deservingly.

  14. morgan on May 1st, 2008 12:16 pm

i hope david cook doesn’t win. i think he is amazing and would do MUCH better if he didn’t have a record deal w/ the american idol people.

  15. Karen on May 1st, 2008 5:48 pm

Kath- I said rooting for Brooke TO GET VOTED OFF. (in caps because you didn’t pay attention the first time) LOL!!!! I LOVE MY DAVID COOK!
