David Cook Singing “Baba O’Reilly” and “Hungry Like a Wolf” (Watch)

May 7, 2008 by

My favorite IDOL wannabe, David Cook, didn’t have his best night tonight. But a bad night for David is still enjoyable – especially when compared to Jason Castro…ouch.

First up is David’s take on “Hungry Like a Wolf” but Duran Duran.

What did you think of David’s two songs tonight?

Am I the only one confused by David Cook singing a Duran Duran song when DD isn’t in the Rock and Roll HOF? Wasn’t that the whole “theme” of this weeks show?

Strange that the producers would totally miss that little point…

Adam: They got to pick songs from this list (and that Duran Duran song is on there):

My husband and I have been “extreme” Who fans for over 30 years. Have seen them dozens of time all over the country. Even have this song on my phone as the ring tone. I love David but this version of Babe is a “waste” of a terrific song. Too slow, this is NOT a love song it is a Rock and Roll anthem. I admit to being a Who fan but…this has been voted on by Rock stars themselves as one of the top 5 rock songs EVER written. Hard to make it your own w/out having fans upset!

    Sorry dude.

I think it’s completely fine he had one off night (even though I really loved Baba O’Reilly). He’s been right on target the entire season and he’s still my fave!
