THE MOLE is Back…Are you The Mole? (Updated)

You and me…we have a new show to start watching together tonight. Are you ready? Because THE MOLE is back (ABC at 10/9c)
THE MOLE is the kind of reality show that people who hate reality shows usually like. It’s smart and full of crazy adventures. It was well received when it was on a few years back, and I couldn’t be more excited for it’s return tonight.
For those of you new to THE MOLE here’s a little background. THE MOLE is a game in which players must complete various physical and mental challenges to build up a significant cash prize for the winner. One of them, however, is “the Mole,” a double agent hired by the producers to sabotage the efforts of the group. The Mole must be careful to avoid drawing suspicion. Using journals, players must track vast amounts of minutiae about the person(s) they suspect of being the Mole, such as seating positions, clothing colors, minor discussion topics, and so on. The quiz at the end of each episode tests players’ knowledge of the Mole, and determines by lowest score who is eliminated from the game.
I have the first two episodes here so I’m going to go off and check those out now. But drop me a comment if you think you might be up for watching with me this summer. I think you’ll like it.
UPDATE: After watching the first episode earlier today I can say that I am definitely 100% hooked. I think this would be a great game for everyone to play along with here at GMMR. If you have suggestions on how we could get a weekly game going on what it should look like, leave a comment and let me know.

I love The Mole! I used to play along back when Anderson Cooper was the host and reality TV itself was much more of a novelty.
Now that TV is all web-interactive, I hear that we can even take the quiz at the end along with the players.
Ok based SOLELY on your recommendation, I’m going to watch it! I’ve only watched the celebrity one (yes, I’m that shallow). Just like I’ve only watched the Celebrity Apprentice. But I did enjoy the Celebrity Mole, so I’ll give it a try. Your site has gotten me to go outside my comfort zone before, so I trust you!

I would love to play some sort of Mole game every week. I’m not very creative, but at the minumum maybe you could do a poll (like Tanster does for voting on episodes) – that we could select after each episode who we think the mole is?

After reading your recommendation, I read about the shows previous seasons on wikipedia, and it sounds awesome! I’ll definetly be keeping up with it.
I am SO excited about The Mole being back, although I will miss Anderson Cooper as the host. Poor guy’s career has just gone down the toilet. I will definitely be in for playing along this summer. I watched the first two seasons, as well as the celebrity seasons, which weren’t as good. I know I guessed the first season’s Mole pretty early on, and I think I did well with the second season too. As if I need another show to get hooked on, I will definitely give it a shot tonight. However, since my fiance is in control of the remote (he’s now switching channels between politics and Futurama), I may have to record it and watch it later.
We love The Mole in our house 🙂 I picked a person, right when they did introductions, as the mole but I think I’m way off by her actions in this episode. I chose Nicole…aka the one who everyone hates and had to “sleep” outside. My other two options are the history teacher or the tall, skinny guy.
The mole is Kristan I am so sure of it, this last episode she didn’t help win any money for the part, she is smart cuz she alligned herself with the weaklings.
