The Tina Fey/Sarah Palin skit was of course hysterical, but for some reason the “Mark Wahlberg Talks to Animals” skit had me cracking up too. Who wakes up one day and realizes they can do a Marky Mark impression? The awesome Andy Samberg of course.

Say hi to your mother for me…

This was definitely the best overall episode of SNL in quite some time. Agree or disagree?

    I felt this skit was totally random, and I didn’t really know what to think of it.
    I really liked the bailout skit, which did some proper well-thought-out finger pointing at both parties and then at actual consumers.

    I thought the EXACT same thing GMMR! I thought this was hilarious! And also thought “who the hell decides one day to do a Mark Wahlberg impression”? Too funny!

    I loved this skit, which is good, because the digital short was totally lame. After the digital short, Billy said, “Andy Samberg has either started doing drugs or stopped doing drugs, and I don’t like it.” But I like to think that he was spending all his time practicing his Mark Wahlberg (which I loved, and was SHOCKED he was so good at) and didn’t have as much time to write the digital short this week.

    I don’t know, though … SNL hasn’t been very funny for a couple of years. I still love it and it still has really funny parts (usually one or two per ep), but they do seem to go in and out of these cycles, and we’re in a crappy one right now. Weekend Update still kills it every time, and Tina Fey is doing a good job with Palin, but other than that … not much was memorable.

    omg I loved this skit–thanks for posting it. It was so random but Andy was dead on and I really could picture Mark Wahlberg throughout the entire skit. I think it was something you either really liked or not since my husband had no idea why I was in tears with laughter!

    I totally agree! I usually only watch until weekend update…but I watched and enjoyed almost every skit! Thought Mary Poppins skit was really good, but the debate was awesome. Anne Hathaway was funny, and charming, and appeared to be up for anything! It was great. And it’s ALWAYS great when Amy laughs during Weekend Update…she’s too cute.

    Thta was very funny. I love Marky Mark! Samberg nailed it. Mark has lost / hides the thickness of his Boston accent. Andy could have over done it but he didn’t….great skit!

    I laughed my ass off at this on SNL but for some or other reason the clip (on YouTube, Hulu etc etc) can not be viewed anywhere but the US … so no one else in South Africa will get to laugh as hard as I did when I saw the show 🙁
