Brothers & Sisters Recap

Happy Monday GMMRers, Jamie here with you once again with your Brothers and Sisters fight night recap. The Walker’s were busy this week, Nora launches a preemptive strike to keep Holly from hurting William’s long lost son and she drags Kitty along. Justin celebrates his 1 year sobriety while Sarah entertains an intriguing business offer. Kevin and Tommy fight like ten year olds and Kitty and Robert receive some amazing news.

The Walker wackiness began this week with Robert leaving on a trip and refusing to let Kitty join him. Kitty is upset because she doesn’t want to be left alone waiting to see if anyone wants to give them a child.

Nora confides to Saul that she is going to Bakersfield to talk to the Lafferty’s before Holly can, and begs him to come with her. Saul refuses but when Kitty goes to Nora to vent her frustrations the rather sneaky Nora tricks her into going to Bakersfield with her using the guise of running a few errands. Nora drags Kitty all over the place but eventually comes clean and after some bickering Kitty agrees to join her.

Rebecca and Justin are in that SEX, SEX, and SEX phase of their relationship.  Justin revels to Rebecca that he’s getting his one-year sober chip at his NA meeting that day and asks her to come.

Rebecca invites both Kevin and Tommy to attend Justin’s ceremony as they were a huge part of his recovery. Kevin is quite reluctant, but agrees to come. God I loved Kevin this week. His “murky polluted water under the fraternal bridge” line was priceless. Tommy also agrees to go as well and I get the feeling this NA meeting is going to be a riot.

Sarah is still at home enjoying her kids, but she landed a job interview with an organic foods internet company that she’s quite jazzed about. Paige is worried that she won’t be around anymore and Sarah assures her daughter it will be different and not like when she worked at Ojai. She goes to Tommy to calm her nerves. In between teasing her and being a bully brother, Tommy manages to give her a few words of encouragement. I found myself liking Tommy in this scene with Sarah. I thought he was quite funny.

On the way to Bakersfield Kitty is caught off guard she hears on the radio that Robert is in the Middle East. She freaks out and tries to reach him. Nora uses this as an opportunity to subtly bash Robert. Just when they arrive at the Lafferty house, Robert calls. They have a whispery spat about why he didn’t tell her (what part of “secret mission” did Kitty not understand? She did work in his office once right?). No body was home at the Lafferty residence so they decide wait and fight some more. Wow Nora is still fuming about Robert yelling at her weeks ago, she thinks he’s pulling her away from the family. As they scream at each other in his driveway George Lafferty and his dog wander home.

Meanwhile at Justin’s NA meeting Tommy and Kevin run into each other at the door, and without delay they get right into an over the top brother battle that leads to them physically tussling. They barrel into the meeting interrupting Justin’s speech, and he is not impressed. Bad, bad brothers, shame on you.

Sarah’s job interview goes very well. The young Kyle and Ethan’s internet company seem really impressive to Sarah and she wants the job badly. Taking her daughter’s advice she does a little extra-credit work to ensure she gets the job. When she stops by their “office” to deliver her proposal for the company, she realizes the dudes are working out of their apartment and they lied to her about a great deal things said in the interview. She freaks on them and leaves. Did anyone else notice how hot the nerdy Ethan looked in a towel?

Kyle appears at her door later, begging for her to work with them. With her they can take their small company to greatness. Sarah she agrees to take the position but under her conditions and that they work from her house not theirs. I’m excited about this venture. The young guys seem entertaining and I like that Sarah stuck to her guns about the working from home.

In Bakersfield Nora and Kitty talk to George and Nora spills to him her suspicions that her dead hubby and his dead wife were involved. He is justifiably upset and throws them out. As Kitty and Nora make their way back home Nora suddenly makes Kitty pull over and she runs out and yells out all her angry towards William and his stupid penis. Mother and daughter bond on the side of the road as they discuss their relationships with their powerful men.

The big news this week is that there’s a pregnant woman in Missouri who want to give Kitty and Robert her child. The entire family gathers at Chez Walker to celebrate Justin sobriety and Kitty baby news. When Kevin and Tommy arrive, Nora has a very motherly reaction to their fight. Justin locks his brothers in a room and tells them to get the hell over themselves. He tells them to fake liking each other if they can’t but the drama stops now. They whine and complain but eventually agree to fake it.

In the final moments Rebecca gives Justin a key to her apartment and Kitty shares the baby news with Robert. And we end with George Lafferty at Nora’s door. He figures there’s more to the story and concludes that it’s all about his son Ryan. Nora invites him in to talk and we fade to black.

How do you think this Ryan thing will play out, any thoughts? And how delicious was Justin in Rebecca’s mini silk robe? Or was that just me? No mention about Tommy and Saul’s conversation from last week. I wonder what Tommy is going to do? And when did Tommy get funny?

Until next week,

Your Brothers and Sisters devotee for this season is Jamie aka Jamer (GMMR handle). She hails from Vancouver BC and is pumped to be adding a dash of Canadian flare to the GMMR. So what will the Walker’s have in store for us this year? I don’t know but let’s enjoy the bumpy ride together!

Yes, I totally agree with you Jaime about the scene with Tommy and Sarah. Finally they gave him a funny and encouraging line instead of “Ojai Foods…grumble, grumble…Holly…grumble, grumble, secretary he cheated with…grumble, grumble”!
