What Did You Get for Christmas?

December 29, 2008 by

I’ll be honest with you. I haven’t watched much TV over this past week. And with no new TV on tonight, I’m a little hard pressed to find something to blog about this morning. So while I think of something useful and relevant to talk about, I thought we could at least discuss your Christmas/(insert relevant holiday here) gifts.

So share with us all your favorite gifts!!

I hope you had a nice Christmas, GMMR. I got a lot of great gifts. I think my favorite was the new Wii I got. I also got Friday Night Lights on DVD. I’m going to start watching it tonight.

I too am depressed that a) the Pats are out of it, and b) no new TV for awhile. On the other hand Christmas was nice and my family gave me an awesome GPS. Also on the other hand we have lots of good stuff spinning up beginning next week – Damages is back and you have to watch it if you didn’t last season.

I hope your Christmas was great, Kath.

It was a TV-licious Christmas in my house. Our HDTV trial was up from last Christmas, so we upgraded to an HD PVR. I can’t wait to use it when all the shows return in ’09! I also did well in the TV on DVD department – Seasons 1 thru 3 of Angel, and finally completed my Entourage collection.

Hope you had a fantastic holiday!

    Happy middle of the holidays!

I got Monk and Psych on DVD. I also got a few books, some earrings, gift cards. Nothing too great, but all enjoyable.

I got a Creed Bratton Dunder Mifflin/America’s Got Talent Season Finale Party-Favor Mug from NBC.com! Wow, that is a long name for a coffee mug.

I was running into the same problem. It’s time to rewatch some old favorites! Like, what New Year’s eps are out there? How I Met Your Mother, definitely…

Anyway, I did get Eli Stone for Christmas. It may die on ABC at least it will live forever in our hearts and on my DVD.

I got a small LCD tv for my bedroom along with the Big Bang Theory season 1 DVD. I spent most of the weekend sitting in bed, watching and laughing at the episodes. The show has quickly become one of my favorites. I find it gives me more laugh out loud moments than any other show on tv right now. I was pretty disappointed with the lack of extras on the DVD though. I would have given almost anything for a gag reel or something equally entertaining.

Hope everyone in GMMR land (including Kath!) had a great holiday.

Okay am going to admit the stupid moment of the month for me. I didn’t get to watch NL’s Christmas Vacation, a must see for me, prior to Christmas so I watched it this weekend. Am looking at Rusty as though for the first time. I never made the connection on Johnny Galecki to our much adored Big Bang Theory. Gosh I always knew he was familiar to me from probably many things… just never made the Rusty connection.

I am happy that a) the Eagles are moving on (in yo face [had to, come on]), and b) got PSYCH on dvd as well as Dr. Horrible. I think it’s finally time for another one of my Christmas Psych marathons. And then sing along like a mad woman I say!

Also got Guitar Hero. Which means I have lost my soul to that.

My awesome best friend bought me Supernatural season 3, The Tudors season 1, and Scrubs season 7. She also got me a book containing every script from the Extras series. 🙂

The best and most unexpected present was from my cousin, a Wii Fit.

My fav tv related presents were: $ toward a new big tv and HD for a year (WOOHOO – Jim & Pam in HD!)….and tons of random Office stuff. I guess when people know you’re a fan of a show, they go nuts buying that stuff. I got 3 Office calendars, 2 different Office board games (the trivia one is a good range of easy to difficult questions), and random Office goodies from Target (pens, post-its, etc.). And I introduced my parents to Dexter this Xmas vacation, so far we’ve watched all of Season 1 and half of Season 2…man, that’s a good show – and still scary watching it a second time!! 🙂

It was a Dr Horrible xmas! Also, Firefly on Blu-Ray, The Office S4, HIMYM S3, The Cult of Cartman and The Wire S1. Happy New Year! Looking forward to getting my tv news on GMMR this year!
