Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Tuesday, March 17, 2009

March 17, 2009 by

Top of the mornin’ to you. I hope you all have a very enjoyable St. Patrick’s Day. It seems a bit wasteful to have the holiday fall midweek. Guess that means I’ll have to drink at the office.  It wouldn’t be the first time.  I kid…kind of.

A pretty tame night of television…and that’s definitely NOT a complaint.

Here’s a little of what I’ll be watching…what about YOU?!

American Idol | 8pm on Fox
The remaining finalists perform songs popularized by members of the Grand Ole Opry; Randy Travis mentors the competitors. [GMMR: Country night? Already? How about giving us a few weeks before dropping the contestants into this often polarizing genre?]

Reaper | 8pm on The CW
The Sweet Science”
Ben wants to introduce Nina to Sock and Sam; the devil tells Sam he must send a prizefighter from the 1950s back to hell. [GMMR: I haven’t heard much buzz about this show since it returned.  Any fans out there want to chime in and let us know how it’s going?]

The Biggest Loser | 8pm on NBC
The contestants must continue to make healthy food choices and get their workouts done when they head home for a week; a cookie temptation adds a twist to the competition; a contestant is sent home.

The Mentalist | 9pm on CBS
Bloodshot
Patrick loses his sight in an explosion, forcing him to rely on his other senses to help him solve the murder of a financial adviser.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit | 10pm on NBC
“Lead”
While investigating a triple homicide, Benson and Stabler get assistance from a former dancer (Carol Burnett) who is now a strip-club owner, as well as from her nephew (Matthew Lillard). When the prime suspect dies, the focus shifts to a vigilante.

Also playing…

  • Dancing with the Stars | 8pm on ABC: A performance recap of last night’s dances.  Someone is eliminated.
  • NCIS | 8pm on CBS: A boxer’s death leads to Vance starting his own investigation; Gibbs looks into Vance’s past.
  • Without a Trace | 10pm on CBS: The team searches for a trial consultant who goes missing during a big civil case; Jack and Samantha adjust to Brian spending time with Finn.
  • Trust Me | 10pm on TNT: Conner arranges some freelance work for a former partner; Sarah tries to bring in a high-profile beer account; Mason’s daughter is having boy troubles.

Lost to choose from.  What will YOU be watching tonight?!

Reaper fan here! I love the chemistry of the three leads together – almost always total hilarity. This whole Sock and his sister-who’s-not-really-his-sister thing is kind of skeevy, yet impressive in how much it pushes the envelope, all at the same time, lol.

I just have to say that I have not watched American Idol ever, but someone sent me the video of Adam Lambert singing Black or White and now I must follow his trajectory this season. I don’t think I’ll be tuning into the show, but I’ll be catching up on blogs like GMMR’s and watching him on youtube. He’s awesome!

I still like Reaper! lol, I wish it was doing better so I don’t see it going very far. Which is sad lol. I agree with what Nicole said about Reaper, it’s great. So, I’ll be watching Reaper and American Idol. I usually don’t watch it on the night its on so then I read your blog and I really don’t even need to watch it lol.
