Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Thursday, March 19, 2009

March 19, 2009 by

I know you’re probably still recovering from Wednesday night TV, but buck up little solider because it’s Thursday and things ain’t any easier today. It’s tough to be a TV fan sometimes, isn’t it.  So much commitment. Oh the drama of it all.

Before we get to tonight’s programming, let’s close the loop on last night. Did you guys give BETTER OFF TED a shot?  What did you think? Click here to share your thoughts on last night’s new comedy.

And what about last night’s AMERICAN IDOL shocker?! I didn’t see that one coming.  What do YOU think about who got voted off IDOL last night?

My thoughts on LOST will be posted later today.

Ok enough about Wednesday, let’s move on to Thursday night TV. Any time there’s a new episode of THE OFFICE I figure it’s going to be a good day.  And tonight we’ve got John Krasinski in a tux. Can you beat that?! No? Yeah, I didn’t think so.

March Madness begins tonight!!  No, it’s not a count down to my birthday celebration on Saturday but rather some basketball tournament.  I know it’s a big deal but unless Fairfield U is playing I think I’ll pass. Don’t laugh, it’s happened before. Go Stags!

And our President sits down with Jay Leno for an extended segment.  It’s a big night.

Bones| 8pm on Fox
“The Salt in the Wounds”
The body of a pregnant 16-year-old athlete found buried in a mound of salt in a city de-icing truck leads Booth and Brennan to the discovery that many of her teammates are pregnant or have babies after a pregnancy pact.

Smallville | 8pm on The CW
“Turbulence”
Tess tries to get Clark to reveal his powers by orchestrating an explosion; Davis learns a way to control the monster within.

Ugly Betty | 8pm on ABC
“The Sex Issue”
Marc and Amanda give Betty a sexy makeover; Hilda isn’t sure if she wants to keep dating Archie. [GMMR: Hilda, you can’t break up with Daniel. He gives a hell of a wax job, plus he knows how to paint a fence. He might come in handy. – That sounded way dirtier than original intended.]

The Office | 9pm on NBC
“The New Boss”
Michael makes big plans for his 15th anniversary party at Dunder Mifflin; Jim plays a prank on Dwight that has unexpected results. [GMMR: Why am I nervous that Jim is going to finally get busted big time for one of his pranks?]

Supernatural | 9pm on The CW
On the Head of a Pin”
Castiel and Uriel ask Dean to use the torturing skills he learned in hell to extract information from Alastair; Dean’s world is shattered when Alastair reveals shocking information. [GMMR: Nicole’s interview with Misha Collins (Castiel) had to be postponded until next month due to Misha’s schedule. Thanks for your questions and keep ’em coming.]

Grey’s Anatomy | 9pm on ABC
“Stand By Me”
Meredith tries to convince Derek to come back to work; Mark attempts a face transplant surgery; Izzie tries to keep her medical condition a secret.

30 Rock | 9:30pm on NBC
“The Bubble”
Liz discovers that Drew’s charm and good looks have brought him special treatment; Jack tries to convince Tracy to stay at TGS after his contract expires.

Private Practice | 10pm on ABC
“Private Practice”
Violet has to convince a pregnant psych patient that an unwanted surgery is necessary; Dell’s ex moves for a new job; Addison and Sam suppress feelings for two unattainable people. [GMMR: Wait – any chance Violet’s pregnant patient will have a direct affect on how she feels about her own pregnancy? Sorry, but even in utero this kid is annoying.]

ER | 10pm on NBC
“Shifting Equilibrium”
Neela and Dr. Dubenko argue about the treatment of two surgical cases; Brenner has an epiphany about his past.

The Tonight Show with Jay Leno | 11:30pm on NBC
Tonight Jay welcomes President Barack Obama to the late night couch.  President Obama will be the first sitting president since John F. Kennedy to appear on a late night talk show. Also on the show, one of my faves, Garth Brooks.

Also playing…

  • My Name is Earl | 8:00pm on NBC: Earl apologizes to a woman (Betty White) for all the trouble he caused her as a kid; Joy tries to prove that she has a nice side.
  • Hells Kitchen | 9:00pm on Fox: The teams try their hands at tapas-style dining using the day’s leftovers; one chef’s mistake nearly sabotages both teams’ performances.

What does YOUR TV lineup look like tonight?

woo hoo!! Thursday is my favoritee tv day. Greys Anatomy!! I’ll also be watching ugly betty, the office , 30 rock, and private practice. Oh no, I reallyyy hope Jim doesn’t get busted, that would depress me lol. Oh ya, me and my friend have to replicate a scene from our favorite tv show in school so we are doing the office!! I’m so excited, she is going to be Michael and I’m going to be Jim, even though we are both girls lol. We are doing the scene from season 3 “The Negotiation” when Michael is practicing negotiating with Jim who is pretending to be Darryl asking for a raise lol it should be interesting. Also, I recorded Better Off Ted but i haven’t watched it yet.
