Adam Lambert in "Wicked" - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

Adam Lambert in “Wicked”

March 27, 2009 by

It’s the voice. It’s winning me over. I’ve been hesitant but I must admit that I’ve packed my bags, I’ve bought a ticket and I’m ready to board the Adam Lambert train.

This week’s killer performance of “Tracks of Me Tears” did me in. He was incredible. If you were a fan you can buy the single from iTunes, but be sure to download the performance version rather than the in-studio single. When they got him in the studio they had Adam record a traditional version of “Tracks of My Tears” which stripped all the originality and beauty that Adam brought to the tune during the live performance. Disappointing.

In the early days of this season there was some buzz about Adam’s past as a cast member in “Wicked”. Indeed Adam was the understudy for the male lead in the national touring company. And because YouTube is so bountiful, I just happened to find a few clips of Adam’s performance as Fiyero. As a big fan of this show I would have been just fine if I had to see him as the understudy. Fantastic.

Fans of Adam Lambert and Wicked…enjoy.

I’m on the Adam Lambert “musical theatre actor performer” train, but not quite the Adam Lambert “American Idol popular music maker” train, quite yet. I could see him doing a wicked version of Jesus Christ Superstar. Give me a few more weeks. By the finals, I’ll probably be on his side!

I watched both of these yesterday morning! I’ve been on the Adam Lambert train since his audition. I’m a fan of people who do things totally contrary to what you’d expect – like Travis from SYTYCD who looks like he’d do hiphop normally. In any case, big fan of Adam even though I don’t think he’ll win.

I love love love Adam!!!! I saw him in “Wicked” about 4 times while the show was in LA and every time I went he always went to the stage door. Even when he was just ensemble people would ask for hugs and autographs. Seriously Adam is one of the nicest guys. When I saw him in a promo of the upcoming season I like screamed I am so happy he is making it every week. He did do a song from “Jesus Christ Superstar” at this one concert called Broadway Unplugged. It was amazing!! I had front row seats and he just owns the stage. I love Adam! There are more great clips from him from when he did Wicked Wednesday at Universal Studios. He sang “As Long As Your Mine” and it was beautiful!!!!

Adam has brilliant, natural talent and charisma. He knows who he is, what he wants and what to do about it. I believe he will make it to the last week of Idol.

It’s almost too bad that he’s not in Wicked anymore. I managed to find one video of his performance, and he was brilliant. 🙂

I am an avid Adam Lambert fan. I like country and western but I heard Adam audition and I have watched every AI since he has been on. I think he will go all the way and is light years ahead of any AI every on the show. Even if he loses, he has already won. I think he will be around for the long haul. Who cares if he is gay???? The important part is how talented he is and that he is a “total” package. I love his outrageous renditions of contemporary songs. I, who barely listens to the radio, am an Adam Lambert junkie and would love to find more of his previous stuff:>)

I love Adam Lambert so much looking at his face and listening to his incredible voice, you can really guess who will be the next American idol..I like him so much and specially his voice.. the song he sang, ring of fire is kinda weird for me because the way he dance.! It’s very unfamiliar!! although other people says that Adam Lambert is GAY, I never mind them…because they just want Adam to be eliminated in AI. Because for me, he isn’t gay..! 🙂 that’s all.! thanks..! 😛

I am an Adam Lambert fan. I feel he will be the next American Idol and go on to be the next Elvis for his generation. I am a Sr. Citizen and he has a lot of followers in our age bracket. Talent is talent.

I am 44 years-old, married, and a mother of two. I believe that it is about time that we stop dminishing people just because of their personal sexual preferences. Adam is pure talent and a great human being…he is humble, deeply talented and seems to come from a very close and supportive family! I adore to see his parents present when he performs in AI! I believe he is our next AI!!!!! GO ADAM…. GOD BLESS!

Adam is a breath of fresh air and creative genius – something we haven’t seen on AI (or anywhere else) in a very long time. His talent is undeniable. I honestly don’t believe there is anything musical that he couldn’t do, and do well. I too can see him in “Jesus Christ Superstar” – he would be awesome. But I can just as easily see him as a recording artist. His fan base is huge and varied – he has captured the hearts of the teenagers, their mothers and grandmothers. Even the guys are willing to give him credit where credit is due (other than the homophobic ones which are hopefully a minority).

He is an unbelievably talented singer and performer, with a personality that shines. He should win Idol – but if he doesn’t, it makes no difference. He is already a winner and he has touched the souls of many, many people, who will be lining up to buy his CDs and tickets to his concerts.

Adam is incredible! There is a definite androgynous appeal to him. He’s handsome to both men and women, that’s for sure! I really want Danny Gokey outta there…. same goes for Allison Iraheta. I don’t find that girl’s raspy shouting all that great. Melissa Etheridge has been doing that for 30 years and… much as I love her… it gets old! you stop buying CDs of raspy, one-note shouters after awhile…. I hope the final is Kris Allen and Adam, the two nicest, best-looking and best singers. Simple as that!
    Just sayin’ …… 🙂

Adam is the best singer and entertainer American Idol has ever had, and he should win , like Paula keeps saying he’s in a league of his own

here is what I KNOW-the first time I heard this person sing, I cried…that is all it takes to realize that my soul has been touched and they have a talent they can share with the world to everyone’s benefit. I got it the first time I heard Celene Dion, I got it the first time I heard Mariah Carey, I got it the first time I heard Clay Aiken and a handful of others. What never came to mind was what their sexual affiliation was…and it should not; I am not belittled for marrying a man and having children as being straight in a derogatory manner, so who are we to think that it should have any bearing on talent? I tire of the shallow-minded people trying to play that card. It just does NOT matter… This young man has more going for him than many who are already popular and I hope to be able to watch his climb to the heights he has dreamed of while sharing his special gift with us all, including this 53-year old grandma!
