PROJECT RUNWAY Returns to TV This Summer

April 1, 2009 by

Finally the drama is over. Although done and over with in “real life”, fans of PROJECT RUNWAY will finally see this season unfold this summer when the show returns. But don’t go looking for Heidi and Tim on Bravo – the new season will be airing on Lifetime.

I couldn’t be more excited that Lifetime will bring its viewers an amazing, all-new season of Project Runway this summer. As the highest-rated cable network for women, Lifetime is the perfect home for this outstanding program as well as its companion series Models of the Runway. All of us at Lifetime are thrilled to move forward with Heidi, Tim, Nina, Michael, The Weinstein Company and the entire Project Runway team. We are proud to add these shows to our growing slate of original programming, including the hit series Army Wives, the all-new upcoming series Drop Dead Diva and our top-rated original movies.

I don’t know. PROJECT RUNWAY is such a Bravo show that it feels almost bizarre that it’s going to be on Lifetime. But at the end of the day, I’m not really sure I care where it airs as long as I can see some diva wannabe stylists strutting their designs down the catwalk soon.

Thoughts on the show finally returning? Is it a good move for the show to be on Lifetime? Do you care?

Why did Bravo dump it? I will be confused at first but perhaps on Lifetime I can do a series recording – you can’t on Bravo unless you want it to record the other 50 times it runs in a week, makes me nuts they don’t often designate ‘rerun’!

Are we sure this isn’t an April Fools joke? I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Runway will be a very odd fit with Lifetime, but my cable company unceremoniously dumped Bravo about halfway through last season’s run, so I’m grudgingly happy about the move.

YAY! I will happily write my reviews of the crap that is the Lifetime LA version of PR! WOOT!

After last season, I can’t say I am still a fan despite loving fashion and reality tv. The Lifetime move feels strange and to make matters worse this next season will take place in Los Angeles which is NOT a fashion city. I will probably check it out a few times but I don’t have high hopes unfortunately
