Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Wednesday, April 1, 2009

April 1, 2009 by

I’ve got nothing.  Couldn’t think of a single April Fool’s Day prank that was worth pursuing this morning.  But my guard is up. I will not be tricked by any tomfoolery today. I’m on to you.

The past two nights have been jam packed with TV. We still need to talk GREEK (today, I promise).  But have you weighed in on last night’s MY BOYS? What about Monday’s CHUCK, HOUSE, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, 24, CASTLE, KINGS, GOSSIP GIRL, the renewal of FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS? It’s all there waiting for YOUR input and opinion.

A few highlights from tonight’s TV lineup…what will YOU be watching?!

Lie to Me | 8pm on Fox
“Depraved Heart”

Lightman is obsessed with his investigation of two women (Naila Azad, Seema Lazar) who committed suicide; the team tries to recover millions of dollars for investors who were scammed.

American Idol | 8pm on Fox

Better Off Ted | 8:30pm on ABC
“Through rose colored HAZMAT Suits”
Ted is forced to take his daughter to work when the nanny calls in sick; Linda’s ex-boyfriend comes back to town. [GMMR: This was the episode originally planned to air last week.  Funny stuff. Love it. I hope you are watching!]

Damages | 10pm – 11:32pm on FX | Season Finale

Patty goes to extremes to win her case against UNR, as Ellen’s season long quest for revenge builds to an explosive conclusion. [GMMR: I still can’t believe it’s the season finale tonight. Make sure you set your DVRs correctly tonight.  DAMAGES runs 92 minutes.]

Life is a Rock | 10pm on ABC | Series Finale
“Everyone Knows It’s Windy”
In the series finale, a mysterious caller offers Sam a chance to return to 2008, but a confusing set of circumstances makes him wonder whether he even wants to do it.

Also Playing…

  • Pedro: The Movie | 8pm on MTV: Openly gay, HIV-positive Pedro Zamora raises awareness about the disease through his appearance on MTV’s “The Real World.”
  • I Get That a Lot | 8pm on CBS: Celebrities Jessica Simpson, Heidi Klum, Ice-T, Jeff Probst, LeAnn Rimes and Mario Lopez pull pranks on unsuspecting people by pretending to be celebrity look-alikes. [GMMR: I’ll be honest.  This looks kind of funny to me.]

I think some of the title info is off on the “Life on Mars” description. Anyone who still watches can check out a farewell to the show by yours truly tomorrow. 😉

Top Model, Lost, and then who knows. I’m like 7 weeks behind on Damages, so maybe I’ll catch up on that.

They should really spread some of Monday’s excess of good tv over to Wednesdays – it would really help me out. 🙂 Luckily I have some Monday and Tues shows on dvr for today b/c other than Scrubs and Better Off Ted, there’s nothing that I really watch. And I’m really hoping to fall in love with BoT tonight, because sorry to say, overall it hasn’t won me over yet. There are lots of small things that I like (like the one character’s need to steal creamer to punish the company in her own small act of rebellion), it’s not “there” for me yet. And maybe it’s unfair to compare, but I loved Portia de Rossi so much more as Lindsay Bluth – maybe I just need to get used to the new character before passing judgment. I’m looking forward to tonight, given your opinion Kath!

LeAnn Rimes appears to be making a come-back in her career. Just weeks ago she was servicing her Northern Lights co-star and now she’s serving coffee. Definitely a step up but I’m afraid her wholesome image will never be recovered. Once she sold that for a cheap thrill and a little publicity, it was the begining of the end for her.

I love the song that plays at the beginning of this week’s episode of Life when they find the dead body in the hot tub…it’s “The World” by Earlimart and I was wondering if anybody could help me find a video clip? I just wrote about this song on my blog at http://displacedbrett.wordpres…..04/07/life and would love to include a video clip.

For some reason, they use a different song on the webcast vs. when it was actually on TV…the Earlimart song was only on the televised version. Any help in tracking down this clip is much appreciated. Thanks
