Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Saturday, April 11, 2009

April 11, 2009 by

Indulge in a little out of this world fantasy. Tonight’s TV spotlight takes a look at our planet from a different view. Whether its fighting aliens in outer space, visiting the great beyond, or aliens living among us, its all about what’s happening beyond the stars.

Oh and then there’s Zac Efron. He might be an alien. He sure does force that out of body experience. I’ve only recently begun to appreciate the Efron. But now I appreciate him very, very much.

3rd Rock from the Sun (Marathon) | 4:30pm – 1:00am on TV Land
Dick, Sally, Tommy, and Harry – a group of extraterrestrials on an expedition of what they consider to be the least important planet, Earth (the 3rd Rock from the Sun), pose as a human family of four, to observe human beings.

Independence Day | 8pm on A&E
A 1996 science fiction film about a hostile alien invasion of Earth, focusing on a disparate group of individuals and families as they coincidentally converge in the Nevada desert and, along with the rest of the human population, participate in a last-chance retaliation

Apollo 13 | 8pm on AMC
Astronauts Jim Lovell, Fred Haise and Jack Swigert try to return to Earth, after an explosion aborts the April 1970 moonshot. Based on Jim Lovell’s memoir “Lost Moon.” Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton, Kevin Bacon, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris

Armageddon | 10pm on Encore
An asteroid is on a direct collision course with Earth and will likely wipe out all life on the Earth. NASA rep recruits an oil driller and his team of blue-collar deep-core driller mavericks to destroy it. Bruce Willis, Billy Bob Thornton, Liv Tyler, Ben Affleck, Will Patton

Fantastic Four | 10pm on FX
Four people gain unusual powers after a space mission exposes them to cosmic radiation. Based on the comic book. Mr. Fantastic (Ioan Gruffudd), Invisible Woman (Jessica Alba), Human Torch (Chris Evans), The Thing (Michael Chiklis), Dr. Doom (Julian McMahon)

Also Playing…
Saturday Night Live | 11:30pm on NBC: Zac Efron hosts with musical guests the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs. This is Zac’s first time hosting SNL. I don’t know about you but I’ll be watching…and watching good.

You’re welcome!
