AMERICAN IDOL Spoilers: Top 3 Songs – Judges Pick

SPOILER ALERT!!!

Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and the other guy* in the Top 3 headed home this past week for a hero’s welcome. Each of the guys sang to adoring home town fans and revisited family and friends for what I’m sure was an exciting and emotional homecoming. (And in Adam’s case, quite revealing!)

While kickin’ it back home, each of the guys found out what song they would be performing as part of the judge’s pick section of this week’s show.  Three guys and three judges.  Too bad, Kara. You don’t get to choose.  (Not that I care. I’m so disappointed in Kara this season that I don’t think she should get a vote, but that’s a conversation for a different time).

I’ve received some emails from informed readers and here’s what each IDOL is rumored to be singing.

For Adam Lambert, Simon Cowell chose “One” by U2.  Not surprising since Simon loves that song.  While I have no doubt Adam will sing it well, I had hoped he would get something a little more challenging.

My boy Kris Allen will be taking on “Apologize” by One Republic, chosen by Randy Jackson.  Again, not a shocker.  Randy had pimped this song a few times this season, but I think it was to Matt.  It’s well suited for Kris’s smooth style.

And finally, The Gokey (there I said it), will be singing “Dance Little Sister” by Terrence Trent D’Arby.  And I’m sure Danny’s cursing Paula Abdul right about now for picking something so obscure.  Then again, he probably hand picked the song himself and asked the producers if one of the judges could pick it for him.  Since all involved with the show are clearly on The Gokey train, I’m sure they tipped their hat and obliged.
