NBC Announces its 2009-2010 TV Schedule

May 19, 2009 by

This morning NBC announced its Fall TV schedule.  There’s a lot to check out. New shows, returning favorites and way, way too much Jay Leno. And yes, ladies and gentlemen, here it is. Officially renewed – CHUCK! Give yourselves (and Subway) a round of applause.  The show won’t be back until after the Winter Olympics, but that’s ok.  It will be back.  More time for us to get new people on the CHUCK wagon (pun fully intended).

Check out a synopsis, videos and pics from NBC’s new shows:

I’m still very upset about Life not getting renewed…will really miss that show.

I’m very happy about Chuck though, guess we can’t save them all.

I’m excited about Chuck too, and I’m really glad that it didn’t get put in the Friday death slot. I can’t wait for it to come back, and I’m so happy that NBC threw us a bone on that one! (Not to mention finally killing Earl. You kick ass, NBC!)

Great to see Chuck back, but disappointed that it does not return until February. That barely gives it enough time to run its 13 episodes and there is no chance now of getting the other 9. Plus, it was hard enough to wait until September (Guys, I know Kung-Fu), now we have to wait until the end of February!

Great news about Chuck! But like the above posters, I am upset about having to wait until February to see it! Oh well … at least we will get those 13 episodes. Why is Jay Leno on so much?? Every week night seems like an *awful* lot of Leno. And I see that Law & Order has moved to Wednesdays, which is strange! (As long as I can recall watching it, it’s been on Tuesdays!)

Okay, this Jay Leno business is insane. FIVE HOURS IN PRIMETIME?? I honestly don’t think I quite realized the impact until I just saw the new schedule. I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I can’t help feeling a little blah about only getting 13 Chucks and not until January. How perfect would Thursdays on NBC be if Chuck was airing at 10pm all season (especially now that Earl and Kath and Kim are gone)???

One other thing – I don’t see FNL on the sched, even the mid-season one – am I missing something??

  6. FriendlyFan on May 19th, 2009 1:21 pm

So I guess I never heard that Kath and Kim was not coming back! I really liked that show. And I hope the Jay Leno show does not last long like this. What are they thinking?!?

Nicole – according to TV Guide, FNL is apparently going to be airing in Summer 2010. They aren’t sure when it’ll start on DirecTV, but I’d guess mid-to-late fall again.

    Where is Friday Night Lights?

  10. Lisa (aka lmr) on May 19th, 2009 5:11 pm

Yay on Chuck but boo hiss for having to wait so long for it and for FNL 🙁 Will not look gift horse in the mouth, though.

Friday Night Lights will be back the Summer of 2010

I’m bummed that they are moving Southland to Friday’s at 9. It’s a good show with promise. Why are they going to kill it with that time slot? I don’t think they count ratings on Hulu…which is where I’ll be catching up with the show.

  15. JP on May 19th, 2009 11:18 pm

What about MY NAME IS EARL???

  16. Claytron Zero on May 21st, 2009 12:29 am

YAY Chuck will return! Heroes is Ok too I suppose. The rest looks like total hollywood dribble. I can garentee you NBC will only get 1 hour from me a week and thats only if 1 of the 2 mentioned shows above are on. Too bad about Kings, Ian McShane has more talent and brains than all of the NBC execs, writers and producers combined.
