The TV Talk Podcast: TRUE BLOOD, BIG BROTHER, VAMPIRE DIARIES and more…

August 9, 2009 by

Kath and Dan are back with a regular TV Talk Podcast about all things summer TV and vampire! That’s right, we’re vamp crazy so there’s plenty of talk about TRUE BLOOD, BEING HUMAN, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and more.

Also on tap, BIG BROTHER 11, NURSE JACKIE, ENTOURAGE, WAREHOUSE 13, REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA, GREEK, PSYCH, SKINS plus an update on PROJECT SUPERNATURAL.

If that’s not enough, we talk about the best pilot on The CW you WON’T see this fall and we want answers as to why.

Really behind on the podcasts, but since I’m catching up wanted to come and post some comments for you and Dan…

Firstly – so excited fro Greek coming back! Love the show, and now really curious about the cast members you were talking about!

Entourage – been enjoying this season a lot more too, I love Turtle and I’ve been really enjoying his storyline – and seeing the more “human” side of Ari with his family has been great.

I’m from the UK, and so Being Human isn’t new for me, but was really interested in what you guys had to say about it. I really really love the show – so much so that it was even included in my dissertation for my degree (it was about cult tv!) I agree that it wasn’t necessarily the best written show and Russell Tovey as George occassionally got a bit annoying but I ended up being really amused by his antics, and found him very funny. You guys didn’t go into too much, and I don’t know whether you’ve seen all the episodes now but the twist and shock at the end of episode 5 was one of the best moments of TV I’d seen in a long time – I physically couldn’t breathe after I watched it… (Annie, the door and Herrick with Mitchell…) I honestly wasn’t sure what was going to happen in the next episode, because this is the UK, and they really might kill off the leads!

I’m also really curious to hear what Dan thinks about the new skins – the first couple of episodes are a bit lame, but it does get better and it’s fun to try and find the odd link in episodes to the old characters (I think you see Sid’s locker in the first episode – and there are nice little links like that throughout the whole season)

Oh, I forgot the Body Politic discussion. I was very very lucky to get to see it at a recent UK convention that Jason came over to, and he screened it for us (so I kinda even got to watch it “with him” as he was sitting in the room as we watched it! Hows that for “name dropping!) I have to say, I was so in love with the show and loved what happened with it, and I am so disappointed that it wasn’t picked up. I had been worried about Minka as she isn’t the strongest actor on FNL… but she pulled this off so well, and of course Jason was great! Really wishing that it had been picked up – do you guys know if there is any hope of it being picked up as a mid season thing, or by another network? It was too good to just fade away.

And sorry that because I’m behind I haven’t been able to re-tweet you guys, or even been able to comment quickly.

Right I’m off to listen to the next podcast, as I fear I have written way too much.
