Tonight’s TV Spotlight…Friday, August 21, 2009

August 21, 2009 by

It’s Friday…it’s Friday!!  Woo to the Hoo! It’s been a rather long week and I’m ready for it to be over.

This weekend is a special TV weekend.  No matter what the weather, yours truly will be mainlining some serious television.  Tomorrow it’s Project SUPERNATURAL Saturday. I’m going to be watching hours upon hours of the Winchester boys in my attempt to be completely caught by the time of the S5 premiere.

When I’m not watching San, Dean and the ghosts, I’ll be catching up on Fall TV.  The pilots have been piling up in my apartment and I’ve hardly made a dent.  Next week Ducky and I are heading to Philly to meet up with Rae of RamblingsofaTVWhore.com and Amrie of MyTakeonTV.com for a big ‘ol bloggers weekend.  I can’t talk Fall TV with them if I haven’t seen the shows, right?  I work better with deadlines.

If you don’t have a TV agenda like I have, maybe you’ll make one based on some of the shows airing tonight.  Here are a few highlights.

Monk | 9pm on USA
“Mr. Monk and the UFO”
When Monk and Natalie get stuck in a small desert town, he must uncover the link between a missing woman and a UFO sighting.

Eureka | 9pm on Syfy
“Shower the People”
Allison’s baby shower yields eco-friendly gifts and the discovery of drowned scientists in an area where drowning is impossible. Billy Campbell.

Mean Girls | 9pm on TBS
Attending high school for the first time, a teenager becomes friends with three popular but manipulative students. Based on a book by Rosalind Wiseman. Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey, Tim Meadows, Amy Poehler [GMMR: I love this movie!]

Psych | 10pm on USA
“High Noon-ish”
When strange occurrences threaten to close down a simulated Old West tourist attraction, Lassiter enlists Shawn and Gus to help uncover the truth and keep a childhood favorite open.

The Soup | 10pm on E!
“The Week in Review”
A weekly recap of various pop culture and television show moments of the week. The show is hosted by Joel McHale, who provides sarcastic and biting commentary on the various clips.

On the late night couch…

Fall needs to come soon! I’ve been watching repeats for weeks and I want my regular schedule back! lol but, I have been watching Arrested Development on Hulu and it’s AMAZINGGG, its sooooo funny!! I have two episodes of Greek left but I’m waiting as close to the premier as possible because I’m guessing it’s a cliffhanger and it’ll drive me crazyy lol.

Friday nights on TV are pretty boring for me … at least until the good Fall TV returns! No idea if Dollhouse will return to Fridays, but last year that was my Friday Guilty Pleasure. Tonight’s TV schedule looks pretty dry, so I’ll probably be rewatching the Glee pilot. I’ve got two episodes of Supernatural (I’m a first time watcher, but only caught S4 in reruns!) on the good ol’ VHS, but that’s too freaky to watch on a stormy Friday night! I generally save those for Saturday, in the DAYLIGHT!

I’ll be watching Psych, Eureka, What Not to Wear, and yesterday’s shows that I didn’t watch due to Project Runway (Skins and Royal Pains).

Yay for Project Supernatural! So excited that you started watching too, Kimber, more people should watch this show!
