GLEE Spoilers: A Musical Mashup Sneak Peek

October 7, 2009 by

If you follow me on Twitter then you know I’ve been quite vocal about how many spoilers and how much info Fox has been leaking in an effort to promote GLEE. It was frustrating to see them leak all the musical numbers and best parts from each episode online.  I likened it to going to a movie only to find out that all the best scenes were in the trailer.

I’m not anti-spoilers, but there has to be a balance.

I’m sure I didn’t have anything to do with it, but the crazy amount of spoilers have really let up over the past two weeks.  Nice. Well done. Hopefully Fox and the people behind the online promotion for GLEE have found that balance.

But again, spoilers are out there, and on special occasions I don’t mind sharing them with you.  Of course I must that I think that you should avoid watching the video below, a musical number from tonight’s episode. Trust me, you’ll enjoy GLEE much more if you chose to stay clear from the “play” button.

So as not to tempt you, I’ll put the video after the jump.

I am not pressing play, but now I am killing myself with curiosity. What could possibly be so spoilery? Will this number show that someone important has joined/quit glee club? Will Mrs Schu come clean to Mr Schu in the middle of a song/dance number? Will Puck “out” the baby as his in the middle of a song/dance number? Will Artie get up out of his chair and dance? I can’t think how a musical number could be a spoiler, but I sure can speculate.

Don’t read too much into it 🙂 It’s just a musical number, but that within itself is a spoiler.

My dear boyfriend has given me far too much crap recently about spoiling myself on shows and then complaining about said spoiling that I’m actually going to resist temptation here. I also need a big pick me up tonight and Glee is going to be just that! Thank you for warning me against pressing play also Kath, I appreciate it!

Already saw this stupid spoiled video. I agree with you, Kath, they HAVE GOT TO STOP sending out entire musical numbers in advance. It’s not like Glee is ruined by huge plot spoilers (it’s just annoying), but the musical numbers are so much better in context and when we are surprised by the song choices & performance. I’ve seriously tried to steer clear of any Glee talk before Wednesdays, but it’s near impossible given that these videos pop up all over the place (and sometimes on Thursday the week before).

    I just love some Glee….
But I think they’ll have to go a long way to top the Cheno episode from last week. I already miss her!!
Never really loved the song Alone until her version, but I downloaded it immediately.

You know me …I am a spoiler whore but I DON’T watch the Glee spoilers. I did in the beginning and it bummed me out at show time.

I am a spoiler whore for the most part but not for Glee. For one reason. This show makes me happy. If I have the crappiest day ever, I can watch Glee and I will smile. And laugh. And laugh some more. I want to have that gut buster laugh when I am surprised by something a character does or says. What was it last night? “scab eating mouth breathers”? Love it. Rewind and watch 10 times.

You know, I usually don’t mind spoilers but I agree, Glee has way too many of them out there! I was watching last night’s show (for the 2nd time) on Hulu today and there were ‘preview’ clips for next week, which are actually 2 whole musical numbers!! Ugh.
