Who Went Home on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE?

December 2, 2009 by

Stay tuned to find out which guys and which girls will be dancing for their lives and who will be going home tonight.

Any early predictions? I’m thinking it might be Nathan and Noelle leaving us tonight. Just going with my gut.

Nothing like a little Billy Joel to kick off SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE tonight.  Or should I say the Jakob Karr show? Seriously, I love the boy but could the camera be on him more? And how about Ryan and Ashleigh making out on stage?  There certainly was a lot to check out during Tyce Diorio’s opening number.

The judges can’t save anyone. The votes are in and the guy and girl going home tonight has already been decided. But who will it be?

Cat is changing it up tonight. The top 5 girls are brought to the stage and the bottom 2 will be revealed. Did they do it this way in year’s past?

  • Ellenore – SAFE
  • Mollee – SAFE
  • Noelle – BOTTOM TWO
  • Ashleigh – SAFE
  • Kathryn – BOTTOM TWO

I must say that I’m a bit surprised that Kathryn was in the bottom two last night. She’s been such a strong dancer so far. But I guess maybe she didn’t connect with the audience as much as I thought she had. So it’s Noelle or Kathryn tonight. I’m hoping it’s Noelle.

Oops, having some techincal difficulties…just playing catch up.

Cat brought the guys on to the stage to tell them their fate.

  • Ryan – BOTTOM TWO
  • Russell – SAFE
  • Jakob – SAFE
  • Nathan – BOTTOM TWO
  • Legacy – SAFE

Yup, that’s about right. While I think Ryan deserves to stay more than Nathan, I really don’t know who will be going home tonight.

Guest dancers tonight were from ‘The League of Extraordinary Dancers’ and extraordinary they were. Just fantastic. The synchronicity was just surreal.

Dancing for Their Lives

…Well not really as the votes are already in. The solos don’t mean much tonight, but they do give us one last look at perhaps our favorite dancers.  I thought Noelle’s solo was wonderful. Did she change it up from last night? Ryan’s solo seemed to be exactly the same, which I guess is what usually happens at this point in the season.

Kathryn was beautiful tonight and I’d be so disappointed if she went home tonight. Like Mary Murphy I too am shocked that she is in the bottom two. I just love watching Nathan dance. He has so much vulnerability. I hope it’s not Nigel that has the parting words for Nathan. It needs to be Adam. Ugh, it’s Nigel. His advice was to continue fighting if he doesn’t make it tonight. Since Nigel already knows who is going home, I think it be might this boy.

Snoop Dog performed tonight, but the real stars were winners of AMERICA’S BEST DANCE CREW (and SYTYCD alums) Quest Crew. Great to see Quest kill it on the stage tonight.

Leaving the Competition Tonight…

For the girls, it’s Noelle going home tonight. And for the guys, we’re saying goodbye to Nathan.

What do you feel about the twosome going home tonight? Did the right dancers go home?

I predict either Ryan or Nathan for the boys, leaning with Ryan, while for the girls I think it’s between Mollee and Noelle, and I’m leaning with Mollee

I thought the opening number was so lame. Not really dancing, more like leaping and posing. It was a mess.

I am gonna guess Noelle and Ryan.

I saw your tweet yesterday about having seen “Every Little Step” and the douchery that is Tyce Diorio. I kinda wish I hadn’t seen that before this season because I’m reminded of it every time he choreographs something, which this season – without Mia – is like every other dance. I’d like to think maybe he’d been humbled, but then I’m reminded of him as a judge.

Aw, Dominic is on. Back to the TV.

Why is it that the best dancers never get picked by the audience? I’ve been watching since season 1 and it’s always like this. Katherine should not be in the bottom 2. No way.

    Okay, that was AMAZING!!!

WOW!!!!!! The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers definitely lived up to it’s name. Incredible. That made watching this show worth it.

wow, that was insane! I wish it had been on the old stage, though – the camera angles on this new one SUCK, bigtime

I think Ryan’s going home, though I too feel he deserves to stay. I just think somehow he hasn’t connected with the audience. I think he’s been in the bottom three almost every week.

As for the girls, I have a feeling it’ll be Noelle. I really hope it’s not Kathryn.

I know I just said I thought Ryan deserves to stay, but then I saw Nathan’s solo and I melted once again. I guess we can’t complain…this season’s dancers are really just so good. Everyone feels like a big loss.

Good luck with your surgery, Kath!

Who is voting for Mollee over Kathryn?

I really hope Ryan, his fake tan and his cheesy smile are gone after next week.

Like you, I had predicted the two to go yesterday. At the beginning of the season I really thought Nathan could win it all. He danced beautifully, he could be a teen hearthrob, and was paired with the other young tween ready dancer. I don’t know what happened. They didn’t partner that well, he’s had too blessed a life or didn’t show much of a personality. It makes be a bit sad…mostly for my fantasy pool 🙂 My true favorites from the beginning were Jakob and Ellenore so I’m very happy they’re doing so well. I wish I had gone for my gut than for who I thought America would vote for. GO Jakob and Ellenore!

I think the viewing audience has been trying to take Nathan out of competition for a while. He and Mollie have been in the bottom quite a few times lately, and I think they were gunning for him. Part of it was his attitude; Nigel was completely right in saying he was arragant. He has skill, but he seemed to be relying more on how he and Mollie were the “cute couple”. And this week proved it. Mollie, when paired with a different dancer, matured incredibly both visually and physically in how she moved and protrayed herself on stage. Nathan… was Nathan. He couldn’t step out of himself.
