What is BURN NOTICE? – SNL

February 7, 2010 by

Uh oh. Hopefully the dedicated fans of BURN NOTICE will find some humor in this skit which asks the question “What is BURN NOTICE?”.

If you think about it, it’s kind of true. It’s a wildly popular show that relatively few people know anything about it. If you’re one of those people, then please note that BURN NOTICE is not a reality show about sunglasses.

That is an unfortunate typo you have there.

I suppose Burn Notice doesn’t have a lot of hype surrounding it, but is really much or any less known than the rest of USA’s shows?
Since it’s pretty obvious to anyone who’s seen more than five minutes of the show what it is about, this sketch is apparently aimed at people who have never heard of the thing being made fun of. Odd.

Ha! Kath, I love that typo – hilarious. I thought this skit was really good, because there are always those shows that you’ve heard the name of several times, and yet you have no idea what it’s about. They could have picked tons of other shows to make the same point (NCIS is one for me – I’ve heard of it, I know Mark Harmon is in it and it’s really popular, but other than that…NO idea). I know of Burn Notice but I’ve never seen it – this skit kind of made me want to check it out and I know lots of Twitter peeps love it, so I might just do that. All in all, the real winner here is Burn Notice – all publicity is good publicity, right?

LOVED THIS SKIT. We’re HUGE Burn Notice fans and we had to admit that the show keeps getting renewed, and we’re thrilled about that, but no one we know watches it! Now, whenever one of us on Thursday says “Burn notice tonight…”
the other will just wistfully say, “….what *IS* Burn Notice?” Silly.
