The New ‘We Are The World’ 2010

February 12, 2010 by

All I can say is that I hope the all new version of ‘We are the World’ raises a lot of money for the people of Haiti. I’m flabbergasted by how unbelievably horrible this remake it. It’s so bad that I think it’s almost disrespectful to the original version. I’ve watched it three times now and I can’t find more than a few second of redeeming musicality.

Judge for yourself.

Wow–that’s pretty bad. Most of the time it sounds like an unorganized mess, other times just people screaming. Add this to the pile of things that didn’t need to be remade. Also, why is Jeff Bridges there?

kyle, scratch that. why was vince vaughn there? the jonas brothers? justin beiber? that chick from the pussycat dolls being in the same airspace as jennifer hudson? it was such a hot mess, and not in a good way. No.

Ugh…what a mess! Turned a song into noise.

I think it could have worked if they had had a lot less people that they were trying to cram in. When Josh Groban only gets to sing 2 words and Lil Wayne gets 3 sentences, something is wrong. In the beginning, I thought the solos were really good – with a few exceptions (Justin Bieber gets to start the song? Seriously?), but the group parts were a disaster and by the second half everything was a mess! There was just too much going on.

It was like a big church choir who had no practices and no conductor. The professionals that were in attendance should have been able to sing together! Well, maybe not Vince Vaughn, but the rest of them. For the record, I was a fan of the little rap section in the middle, but then there were like 3 other rap parts after that. Why? I agree that I hope that it raises a lot of money.

ok. lets get every single person who has ever sung a song and put them in a big room together. the teenybops (jonas brother, young boy at the beginning and miley) looked like they were having the most awkward moments of there life. BUT! i do LOVE jennifer hudson she could have done the whole thing herself and it would have been amazing!

Holy smokes, this is really baaaad… What were they thinking?! It looks more like a contest about who can sing the loudest/highest/with most tremolo than an actual song.
Agree with Sarah though, Jennifer Hudson was like the best part of that hot mess.

Jen–I totally missed Vince Vaughn in there–had to re-watch (with sound off, of course) to find him.

I’m glad to read that I’m not the only one who thought it was bad when they debuted it last night. It sounded very disorganized and was a hot mess. I think they crammed too many people in it was very disappointing that they didn’t focus on the better singers…like Jennifer Hudson.

OMG, what a disgrace! I just couldn’t believe my ears when I heard this. Did they put any thought or real talent (a few exceptions) into this remake? Michael Jackson must be turning over in his grave.

Don’t forget, the original had people like Cyndi Lauper and other teenyboppers who were the Miley and Jonas Brothers of their time, as well as actors like Dan Aykroyd. The whole point of the song (the original and the modern one) is to unite a variety of artists of very different styles, not just the most “prestigious” or “real” musicians, for the benefit of *charity*.

Too many teeny boppers and rappers, not enough quality singers.

I just watched it for the first time, and all I have to say is sham. fucking. wow.
The only people that made this vid were Jennifer Hudson, Pink, and Josh Groban. All the rest of them can go take a leap off a cliff somewhere.

PS i loved it cuz it was true

The processor or CPU is the brains of the laptop or computer – it does most of the calculations your game titles require to operate (with the video clip card carrying out most with the graphics function). With it staying these kinds of an essential component, you would instinctually go for the fastest – and most high priced – processor you could discover, but there is really a far better substitute to blowing funds on anything that will probably be obsolete in a yr: acquiring a processor that will play tomorrow’s online games at a minimal amount could be the sweet spot for any gaming individual computer.

I’m impressed, I should say. Actually rarely must i encounter a weblog that’s both educative and entertaining, and without a doubt, you could have hit the nail within the head. Your thought is outstanding; the catch is something that insufficient folks are speaking intelligently about. I’m really pleased i always came across this about my hunt for something about it.
