Sela Ward to Replace Melina Kanakaredes on CSI:NY

July 13, 2010 by

Welcome back to the small screen, Sela Ward.

In the wake of Melina Kanakaredes’ announcement that she’s exiting CSI: NY, CBS has confirmed that Ward will step in to fill the vacancy.

Said executive producer Pam Veasey, “We are delighted to have Sela joining ‘CSI: NY.’ With the exciting stories planned for Season 7, she’ll be a dynamic addition to the cast and the team.”

Ward, herself, admitted to being a huge fan of the show and said she’s thrilled to be working with star Gary Sinise and such a terrific group of people.

Sela will apparently be playing a seasoned D.C. investigator with a soft spot for victims.

She’ll first appear in this fall’s premiere.

I love Sela and would love to see her on TV again. But after the brilliance of Once & Again, I have a hard time fathoming why the hell she would want to do something as bad as CSI:NY.
