GLEE: Lea Michele hits the Santa Monica Pier, talks Britney Spears, Charice

August 3, 2010 by

FOX threw a press party at the Santa Monica Pier last night (Aug. 2) where GLEE star Lea Michele stopped to talk about what’s coming up for her character, Rachel Berry, in season 2.

In addition to teasing that she’ll be singing what she calls one of Britney Spears’ “iconic” songs, she gave us her thoughts on her Rachel’s new nemesis, which will be played by the Oprah Winfrey-discovered songstress, Charice.

“She and I filmed a hilarious scene the other day and she is the teeniest, most wee person I have ever seen in my life and she is so darling and she’s so sweet,” said Michele. “She has a gorgeous voice.”

Michele warns, however, that calling Charice’s GLEE character a “rival” for Rachel isn’t the most accurate description: “I mean, she is going to be a rival in a sense, but I don’t think [executive producer Ryan Murphy] would do anything as [cliche as that]. You know, knowing Ryan, he’ll probably make us become best friends or something.”

Truth be told, though, a catfight is not out of the question.

See for yourself…

It´s nice to hear those comments from Lea Michelle. And she is right, to people who doesn´t know Charice, she is so sweet, nice and generous girl in person. Very concern about her fans, friends and people helping her. She have always time for them. Charice spends all her life pleasing everybody even though many times it hurts her the most.

Between the Charice “rivalry” and the upcoming stuff with Finn and Rachel (thx for that article the other week btw- love them), I’m pumped for season 2 of GLEE.

I can’t wait for season 2 with all these great hints that are coming our way. Glee wouldn’t be the same without RM’s unpredictability. And without Finn and Rachel, of course 🙂

Nice interview. I really think that season 2 would be awesome, mostly for RM had the courage to experiment a new route for the main couple, Finn and Rachel, would be together for the whole season. I’m looking forward to see how Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, that are both tremendous actors, would play all of this.
