LIFE UNEXPECTED: Can We Talk About the New Cast Additions?

September 15, 2010 by

Now that you’ve seen the season 2 premiere of LIFE UNEXPECTED — which added several new cast members to the mix — we should probably discuss…

  • Arielle Kebbel is playing the sexy new drink-slinger at Baze’s bar who banged him right off the bat and burned the place down with her cig… and then we found out she’s Ryan’s sis!
  • Amy Price-Francis is playing the conservative radio talk show host and book author who stole Cate’s spot on the air, right after dogging everything about being a working, married woman.
  • Shaun Sipos is playing the high school teacher who thought Lux was over 18 and totally made out with her before realizing that she’s one of his students… ruh roh. Oh, and he successfully ended her “engagement” to Bug.

Oh, Bug.

Guess he’s gone bye bye for now.

I, personally, will miss seeing the boy in his undies, but perhaps you feel differently?

Thoughts on the additions of Kebbel, Price-Francis and Sipos’ characters?

Speak up below…

And be nice, because you’re probably going to need to save some of your ire for this mystery woman of Ryan’s, Ms. Julia…

*I’ve adored Arielle Kebbel since her days on Gilmore Girls (although her story line was ridonk on that show). Since then I have adored her on both Vampire Diaries on True Blood. Hopefully she doesn’t get killed off quite as quickly in this newest project of hers….

*I thought the teacher/student storyline would be over-played and cliche, but I actually really like the way they’ve handled it so far. Plus, those two have got crazy chemistry, so that’s a plus. I still miss Jones, though…

*Baze is a sweetie. I hope they let him actually be happy for an episode or two this season…

*Oh, Amy Price-Frnacis. “I’m saving myself for marriage. Like Jessica Simpson. Or Jesus.” Great one-liner, but I wonder how long it will take her to attempt to jump Ryan’s bones….Hmmm….

Ok luv the fact that more WB alums like Arielle Kebbell is joining LUX because its one of the only shows on the CW that reminds me of the WB’s great programming. Shaun Sipos’s storyline however ressembles (i mean is exactly) Pretty Little Liars’ Aria and Ezra relationship!

Anyways, great premiere, impeccable writing and can’t wait what’s coming next!

The Pretty Little Liars thing is exactly what came to my mind too. That’s kind of annoying.

@Karine: Aria & Ezra…Pacey & Tamara…Dan & his teacher on GOSSIP GIRL. It’s too ‘been there, done that’ for me. I wonder why people don’t stand up in the writer’s room and say no! no! no!. Maybe it’s the networks involvement. That storyline does smell like the worst part of the CW.

I’m glad that Bug is gone. Do we know if he’s totally off the show? Am I the only one who he reminded of the creepy guy from Some Kind of Wonderful, or am I dating myself as an 80s kid? haha

Love the addition of the teacher. I thought he was such a hottie on the Melrose reboot so glad he is on here. Hopefully they don’t make the storyline too weird.

Wonder what Kate will do now that she doesn’t have a job…and poor Baze. 🙁

I’m annoyed by the new radio show host. I don’t feel like that character is well developed… maybe it’s the writing, but she seems two-dimensional to me. I think it’s easy to fall into that trap with a “conservative Christian” character. I was disappointed to see that Erin Karpluk was replaced, and I’m hoping it’s because of scheduling conflicts with Being Erica (fingers crossed, that show will come back!)
I enjoy Arielle Kebbel a lot, she is super cute.
Shaun Sipos is a teacher? He looks like a student. Actually, I think he looks like that guy that tried to take Lux to the dance last season, no? I thought it was him!

So, love the addition of Ryan’s Sis. HATE the new radio show co host…uber annoying, a character that will set women back 50 years, too self righteous, nothing developed beyond the fundamentalist, conservative, christian image. Blah…I expect better than that from LUX. I like Shaun Sipos…but I don’t really buy him as a teacher and I think the plotline is WAY over done. Hopefully the writers can bring something fresh to it. But I’m glad Bug is gone. If the writers bring him back I hope they make him grow up. He’s so horrible to Lux and after everything she’s been through she deserves so much better. Her life has changed for the better and if he can celebrate that with her and change with her and nourish the positive transition taking place within, then to Hell with him!

I think the new cast is good but too early to decide how much I like them.

I’m confused about the timeline. Is this a new school year or still last year?

I like Shaun Sipos in this role – so different from Melrose Place and believeable.

Not liking the new female characters so far and when will Trina be gone?

    I believe it’s a new school year.
