HOUSE Producer Katie Jacobs on House and Cuddy's Naked Time, Plus the Season 7 Plan for 13 and Cameron Too - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

HOUSE Producer Katie Jacobs on House and Cuddy’s Naked Time, Plus the Season 7 Plan for 13 and Cameron Too

September 20, 2010 by

At the end of last season, HOUSE executive producers David Shore and Katie Jacobs made it quite clear that our favorite cranky doc and his boss, Lisa Cuddy, were finally going to give this romantic relationship thing a try.

And, as Jacobs tells GIVE ME MY REMOTE in the interview clip below, that’s exactly what they’re doing.

The seventh season premieres this evening with a lot of “naked time” between the two, which Jacobs is comfortable with, explaining that it feels like the right juncture in House’s life for this to happen. Last season, he battled with his addiction and sort of conquered it, she says.

So getting into it with Cuddy — for real this time — is only natural now, no?

Regarding all the aforementioned nakedness, Jacobs muses: “They need very little beyond each other’s company at this point in the relationship to make them happy. It’s been so long and coming.”

And hopefully, HOUSE’s viewers will feel the same, especially since tonight’s opener focuses heavily on their new union. “The first episode is sort of left of center,” she reveals. “It’s not one of our typical medical mysteries. We get right back to [the show’s regular format] in episode 2, but we decided that the audience might want to know, these are not just strangers. They’ve been, you know, thinking about this. How do they exactly come together? And so, the first episode does take place immediately following the season finale [when Cuddy confessed her love] and just the next couple days right after.”

Excited?

Watch the clip below for more from Jacobs on what HOUSE’s other players — 13, Foreman, Chase and Taub — will be up to this year, whether we’ll still be seeing Jennifer Morrison (Cameron) return now that she’s been cast on HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and what happens when Cuddy decides HOUSE needs a new lady doctor on his team.

Will decisions be made differently because they’re now sleeping together?

See for yourself…

Thoughts?

HOUSE season 7 premieres tonight, Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. on FOX.

I took House off my TiVo list. However, any episode with a lot of Wilson, House/Wilson and Wilson/Sam or all three together will definitely get on my TiVo list. To me, everything else on House is garbage.

I was not disappointed. Now I hope you guys continue to let them grow and do not end the relationship. it had enough cuddy and house and still left you wondering where they will be next week to make you want to come back. I love the side of House that we saw. We have never seen him tender and caring or even funny. He was happy and it showed. I especially loved where he finally confessed his feelings for her. Now I want to see him gentle with the child.

House has more soap flakes in it than a box of Ivory Snow. I knew that this would happen. This episode would be better if House were hallucinating again. A message to the writers . To make this show interesting again have Lucas , the jilted lover, chase House and Cuddy arond the hospital with a machete or chainsaw. Make sure that one of them gets it as long as it’s not House.

The reason why woman watch House is because House is the cad that every woman sees the good in him that she could bring out if only he would let her while men watch House because he does everything that they would do if only they could get away with it.

Excellent opening episode! This provided a funny, moving, sexy, and poignant look at the first tentative steps House and Cuddy are taking toward making the relationship work. The two were very much in character with their sharp comments and awkward interludes, but the overall feeling of release and comfort was palpable and refreshing. Where this relationship will go, only David Shore knows for sure, but certainly the dramatic tension, the compelling stories, the sexy chemistry, the humor, the twists and turns of these difficult people trying to make a go of it will keep me glued to the TV screen for years to come.

My hope is that House really took those pills after the girl died and all this with Cuddy is not real. I had gotten very tired of looking at Cuddy’s breasts and ass in clothes inappropriate for her position…but OMG I really am disgusted with this semi-nudity. I hope I don’t have to look at her bare butt any more this season. I love Hugh Laurie…have since Black Adder…but I really do not want to see him naked on a bed with a computer on his lap. He’s House and some of the writing this year is trying to make a different man of him. Give us back Gregory and buy Cuddy a brush. Wilson also needs a different woman and so does Chris…don’t like the wife.
