Who Won THE AMAZING RACE?

December 12, 2010 by

And they’re off! The last three teams in season 17 of THE AMAZING RACE started off in Seoul, Korea and one of those teams ended up $1 million dollars richer when they crossed the finish line in Los Angeles.

But which team won? Was it Nat & Kat? Brooke & Claire? Jill & Thomas? Keep reading to find out.

(BTW, I think I’m the real winner here, because it only took me the entire season to remember Jill & Thomas’ names.)

The teams pulled out their passports one final time as they left Korea and landed to the sweet sounds of Katy Perry in sunny California. Just because the teams were stateside, didn’t mean things were easier. Brooke declared that she would rather be stuck in traffic in Los Angeles than Bangladesh. I have to wonder if she’s spent much time in L.A., because the traffic is brutal.

The first stop on this final leg of the season was in Long Beach. The teams had to climb a freight lift and bungee to the water below. Not a terribly challenging, unless of course you are petrified by heights as much as Nat was. But despite her fears, she showed amazing courage and didn’t hesitate much before getting harnassed in.

The teams then had to board a helicopter to a surprise destination – The Rose Bowl.  Here’s to hoping no one had allergies because the teams had to complete three sections of an official Rose Bowl Parade float.  Although the task was somewhat time consuming, I thought it was a little lame for the season finale. None of the teams had any trouble and left in the same order they came in – Nat & Kat, Jill & Thomas and Brooke & Claire.

I’d love to be able to tell you how the teams ended up in the presence of legendary TV game show host Bob Eubanks, but a glitch with the local CBS station robbed me of those moments.  When the show did resume, the teams were looking at a giant screen which seemed to show the hosts that joined Phil on the mat in each leg of the race. Nat and Kat were finishing up the puzzle. Not clue how long it took them, but seeing that they were there all alone, I don’t think they struggled too much.

I must say, one of the best moments of the night was the excitement Brook and Claire showed when they saw Bob Eubanks. I’m not sure anyone has every been so excited by Bobby…ever.

We didn’t get to see Thomas and Jill at the last task because they were still in a cab while the first team was crossing the finish line.

What? The teams are already racing for the finish line? How did that happen? Talk about lack of intrigue. Geesh.

And who was that team?

It was Nat and Kat – the Doctors! YAY! Really excited that these ladies won. The first all-female team every to win THE AMAZING RACE! They’ve delivered all season long. An impressive run and an exciting victory! Completely deserving!

Brooke & Claire finished second with Thomas & Jill coming in third.

Another season gone. Thankfully THE AMAZING RACE really redeemed itself this season (despite this boring finale).

Thoughts on the season finale? Did you want to see Nat and Kat win it all?

And can we please talk about THE AMAZING RACE ALL STAR season premiering on February 20th? I have rumors of who will be in the cast but nothing confirmed.  Who would you want to see on the race? Should we talk speculation?

I’m VERY glad that Nat+Kat won but no detour? Am I just forgetful and they never have detours on the final legs? Either way, glad the doctors won. i’ve been rooting for them for quite a while!

It seemed a little boring, no?

there really wasnt much suspense or competition. they TRIED to do a bit of suspense during the driving to the finish line, but since nat+kat left before brooke+claire even got there, it didnt work

Very pleased with the result but the lack of real drama made for a ho-hum episode. They need a two-hour finale with more chances for lead change especially as there is immediate airport leveling to get back to the US.

I am thrilled the Globe Trotters are due back, I love them. Don’t hate me but I like Gary and Mallory so am not sorry they are on the list. I don’t dislike Luke and Margie at all but I do dislike how the public reacts to him so am not looking forward to that part. I worked with the hearing impaired for a number of years and understand that they often over emote to get themselves understood.
