LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT Welcomes Back Diane Neal

March 1, 2011 by

When LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT viewers last saw ADA Casey Novak in 2008, she was facing disciplinary action after violating a suspect’s due process. It was revealed the following season that Novak had been disbarred, but fans hadn’t heard any updates since then.

Until now.

TVLine is reporting that Diane Neal (Casey) will return to her former series later this season for one episode. And while details are scarce on why the character will returning, Neal took to Twitter to express her delight at returning to the show.

“I adore Casey, the courtroom and my fans- so I can’t wait to slip the heels back on and fight,” she tweeted today.

Any theories on why Casey might be reappearing after all of these years?

OH! Either she’s coming back for a cold case she worked on or, better yet, will choose to defend herself in a trial. Elizabeth Donelly (Judith Light) could be the judge.
