BREAKOUT KINGS Series Premiere Preview

March 6, 2011 by

Tonight, A&E debuts their brand new one-hour drama, BREAKOUT KINGS.

Instead of your traditional good guys vs. the bad guys show, BREAKOUT KINGS has the good guys (the U.S. Marshals) and the “bad” guys (a group of imprisoned convicts) vs. the worse guys (escaped convicts).

Yes, in order to up their chances of catching the fugitives, U.S. Marshals Duchamp and Zancanelli recruit the prisoners to assist in their cases, with the hopes that they’ll give them a better insight which would be crucial in their apprehension of the escapees. In return, the prisoners get a month off their sentence for every criminal they successfully catch. And as we’ve previously reported, one of the escaped cons the group will be going after later this season is PRISON BREAK’s T-Bag.

This sounds somewhat similar to the premise of white collar … not exactly similar but close enough … anyone else agree?

@Jamie: It is similar, but BREAKOUT KINGS is a much darker show from what I’ve seen.

Finally got to this last night, and I really, really enjoyed it. It has some character dev to do, but they allude to a few things very nicely. It has great potential. I see the comparisons to White Collar, but I actually felt like it was more of a dark version of Leverage. Will keep watching.
