SUPERNATURAL Season Finale Preview: Sera Gamble and Robert Singer Tease The Two-Hour Event

May 20, 2011 by

SUPERNATURAL may have had the week off for SMALLVILLE’s final episode, but The CW is making up for lost time by airing two back-to-back episodes for a special season finale block.

So what are the episodes about? For that answer, I went to SUPERNATURAL executive producers Sera Gamble and Robert Singer…

“I can say that [the first episode is] intense and dark and there’s a lot about Dean’s journey this season,” Gamble told me at PaleyFest in March. “I just saw Jensen [Ackles (Dean)] in the green room and he told me that he enjoyed the script and that it was very intense. He just shook his head at one of the scenes and said he was looking forward to it, but that it was quite dark.”

And is this season finale the darkest one the series has done so far?

“In certain ways, it’s up there, yeah,” Gamble said. “We might not kill as many people…I don’t know, we’d have to do a body count. Where we’re going at the end of the season is pretty heavy.”

“It’s the culmination of a 22-hour mystery,” Singer elaborated. “All things will get revealed. And it has — it just has some interesting twists and turns in it. Probably not the biggest — in size — episode we’ve ever done, but it answers every question the fans who have stuck with us through the year probably want to know. As is our way, it does have a cliffhanger at the end.”
