What is the Title of the FRINGE Season 4 Premiere? Executive Producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman Spill.

July 24, 2011 by

While the FRINGE producers are notoriously hesitant to reveal too many spoilers, they did make a slight exception when they sat down with reporters at Comic-Con after their panel.

There are so many questions they can’t answer and executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman have even kept the fourth season premiere title under wraps…until now.

I asked them in the video below what they could spill about the mystery title and the duo were kind enough to give us the details.

Take a look!

Interesting title, could mean a sort of reset, since things have changed since the final.

I saw some recations to the panel, and it is not just me who thought that Josh Jackson was getting way to much attention at the expense of Anna Torv, Blair Brown, Jasika Nicole, Seth Gabel and Lance Reddick, only John Noble was singled out by him, but we already knew that.

The showrunners must pinch themselves with Anna, Blair, Jasika, Seth and Lance being so relaxed about it. Classy people.

Do you always bash Joshua Jackson on every article? Lots of people were happy to see him, thank you very much. I can’t wait to see how he works back into the story in Season 4.

If Josh hadn’t shown up at the panel, Comic Con might have had a riot on its hands. Glad he finally made a showing! I thought it was clever what they did.

Frankly, nobody had that much to say because there is no info to be had about Season 4.

Anna Torv isn’t the most talkative person anyway. I get the feeling she prefers one on one conversation to large groups.

“A Sort of Homecoming” that’s the Title of a U2 Song

Yes, Bill, and the lyrics to “A Sort of Homecoming” are very interesting as well.

I was glad to see Josh Jackson at ComicCon – never really doubted that he would be there, it was a well-planned buzz creator and the whole set up was quite clever. And to his credit – he’d just gotten out of the hospital for a severe allergic reaction, so he certainly could’ve bailed with a valid excuse.

While I agree that it would’ve been nice to hear from every member of the core cast, the panels are allowed a very short time frame and it’s a cast with 7 actors and 2 showrunners. And really – the Season 4 story (as it stands right now) IS “Where’s Peter?”

    Tonight we’ll build a bridge

See the sky, the burning rain
She will die and live again

It fits very well into my own particular theory of how the writers have planned this out. If I am totally right the homecoming will also involve St Clairs. If I am partially right, the homecoming is “sort of” because, while it is the home timeline, it is not Peter’s home timeline.

My guess is that Peter thinks he’s back home, but he’s not. I think that he’s still in the machine, but now he’s looking at another possibility. When he was in the machine I think he thought about his decision and, deep inside, chose our Olivia, then the machine showed him the consequences of destroying the other universe. Now, when he, still connected to the machine, sees Olivia alive he decided not to destroy any of the universes, but to reunite them instead. So the machine is actually showing him what would happen if that was his decision. I say that because after doing that, when he got out of the machine he acts as they could see him, but my guess is that they can’t, Walter is neither looking nor talking to him, and so isn’t Olivia (she would have kissed him, hugged him as soon as he got out of the machine) I think that the machine will only fulfill its purpose if Peter, experiencing the consequences, want them deep inside…I mean…that’s when he’s really gonna back home, having successfully accomplished his mission.

I’d like to say that I’m a great great fan of the X-files, and I really love Scully and Mulder forever! That was and will be my favorite scifi, and after it was over I swore I’d never ever watch another scifi…but then I met fringe and that promise seemed pretty foolish. The stories are great, they make us think and thrill with the so many possibilities they show….and the couple…oh they feel great together….makes me miss Scully and Mulder…of course that Peter has his story and his character is not only about giving Olivia a sexual life or making her happier, but we just can’t avoid praying that they will stick together, because they are great characters, but they are so much better when they are together… not only Peter, but Olivia too. Just like Scully in x-files when Mulder was abducted….she was doing great…I mean, the character could perfectly carry the show, but we felt that there was something missing…that “after testing strawberry with chocolate, having it without chocolate, although good, may not be enough”…

    tasting not testing

These kind of spoilers just kill me. I had come to terms with the fact that the show was over for many months and that I would just have to wait, with ideas churning in the background of my mind while I went about my summer. Now this little reveal brings those ideas back to the forefront (two months early!) and has also given me new ones. That makes me impatient and a bit miffed…but mostly I’m excited all over again.

    Maria Helena MARRY ME!
    That’s what i’ve been thinking too 🙂
I also believe that Peter is still in the machine and that this “bridge” that he created is controlled by that machine and of course, ultimately by him 🙂

Maybe “Sort of Homecoming” is about both universes re-uniting. As we know the observers have been around for a long time, but why? Since Walter only crossed over in the later half of the twentieth century why have they been around for centuries?? Could Peter’s significance be more like the second coming and once apon a time the universes were one, and then somewhere in time they were split? If the writers really want to expand out there…jsut saying. And what happened to Olivia’s old bfriend/finace who was frozen by Anita??? And why didn’t she ever bump into him over on the other side. That would have been alot more interesting!!!!!!

If stating the obvious, namely that Josh Jackson was getting to much attention at the expense of the rest of the cast is called bashing by Jackson fans, I would like to know what you call the abuse and insults from Jackson fans directed at Anna Torv ?

I recall reading on this site that Anna was to blame for his not being on the list for Comic Con , and blaming her for everything else for that matter,as a result of his complaining about season 3 in the media, and his being negative about Anna, for example about the Bell part, something she did not ask for and was and still is uneasy with.
No actor should complain in the media about storylines and no actor should make negative comments about a co-star, no one else does it on Fringe.

Anna Torv has done a sort of Comic Con on her own in Italy, Fringe promo in vacation-time, 60 minutes answering questions of journos and fans in a large venue, and she did two Paley gatherings with John Noble, very entertaining, Marisa Roffman was there in LA. It is on You Tube : Anna has a lot to say, intelligent and with great sense of humour.
From what I see of Anna Torv, she is a very gracious, humble person, who has no need to push her self at the center of attention.
