FRINGE: Joshua Jackson Shares His Favorite Peter Theory and More

July 29, 2011 by

As FRINGE heads into season 4, the big question looming over the series is what the heck happened to Peter? We know he no longer exists, but what does that mean for our beloved characters who are left behind? What will it take for Peter to exist again?

While Give Me My Remote doesn’t have all the answers (that wouldn’t really be fun if we did), we did ask Joshua Jackson (Peter) what his personal favorite theory was. The video also features Jackson confirming his input into the latest Peter storyline, what the producers wouldn’t let him do (featuring a cameo by FRINGE executive producer Jeff Pinkner), the growth of his character and more…

And in case you missed Joshua Jackson’s Comic-Con entrance, we have the video of that for you, too!

What’s your favorite Peter theory?

Peter will come back as Peter. But Olivia will be an Olivia who never knew Peter. She would have never told Peter (when they were children) that her father was abusive. Peter would have never told Walter. And the abuse would have continued with physical as well as mental consequences.

Nor would it be Peter who was there after the death of John Scott. That, quite possibly, was Lincoln Lee. And Lincoln Lee may not be a fan favorite for long.

I hate these writers, they give the OTHER characters so much work to do while they give Josh NOTHING TO DO. I hate this show.

Josh Jackson deserves an award for his continuing cheerfulness in the service of showrunner wankery, but unfortunately I don’t think such an award will help his career much in the long-term.
