About Last Night...AMERICAN IDOL and ONCE UPON A TIME - Give Me My Remote : Give Me My Remote

Sunday night TV was thrown a little bit thanks to a few football games, but there were still a few interesting things on the air last night…

Hey, I finally remembered a few AMERICAN IDOL contestants names! I think that’s a step in the right direction. Ali (who was first seen on ELLEN) was interesting, and I don’t know what to make of her audition. Obviously she’s very hyper, but it didn’t seem like she seriously thought she had a chance, despite having a decent voice. And she couldn’t bother to change her clothes from her last television appearance? Or was this part of her shtick? I did lke Kyle, who sang “Angel of Mine.” The build-up to his audition made it seem like he’d be terrible, but he was pretty good. It’s going to be very telling to see how the other contestants react to Jane Carrey (AKA Jim’s daughter) when they get to Hollywood. If she reveals who she is, I wouldn’t be surprised if a few get bitchy about it. (Oh, and AI, you’re better than the disgusting tricks you pulled with the first contestant. Even if she dressed in essentially underwear, do you really want recorded proof of your employees — and I’m not even talking about Steven Tyler — being huge pigs about it?)

If you’re going to start an illicit affair, maybe the best time to do it wouldn’t be in the middle of the street. Apparently ONCE UPON A TIME‘s David and Mary Margaret never learned that lesson, so it’s no surprise that the second they decided to cheat, they were spotted by someone — and Regina, no less. As much as I adored this episode (there was an eighth dwarf named Stealthy! More Alan Dale! Snow/Charming!), I’m very curious about how the show is going to handle the infidelity issue with David and Mary Margaret. Obviously, we’re supposed to root for them — we’ve been told this from the pilot, the music when they kissed was romantic, etc….and yet despite the fact that I’ve enjoyed this push-pull, I’m not sure I’m as excited about them going in this direction. David may not have chosen to marry Kathryn, but as far as his memories are concerned, he is committed to someone else. So, it’s going to be an interesting ride to see how far they push this before things blow up. (I actually happened to miss the super-spoilery OUAT promo that ABC was showing for last night’s episode until I started writing this column and flipped on a DVRed show…stop spoiling everything promo people!)

I’m weeks behind on PAN AM and DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES due to TCA, but I’ll be catching up on those ASAP.

I’m glad that the OUAT promo got cut off in Canada if it gave to much away.

Loved last night’s episode…and the best part was that we got a little bit more of our beloved “Random Ruby” and even a glimpse of her Fairy Tale counterpart, Red Riding Hood!

I’m glad it was in front of Regina. She is the one who wants to keep them apart. This will frustrate her and what fun that will be.

Also, I don’t think David and Kathryn are actually married. I think Regina is lying. He doesn’t marry her as Prince Charming, at least we haven’t seen him do it so perhaps he didn’t really marry her at all.

Poetic…I think the same thing. I don’t believe they are really married.

No, I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he isn’t legally married, but as far as he’s concerned, he is. He thinks he made vows, he thinks he committed himself to Katheryn and yet he’s still starting a relationship with Mary Margaret.
